I woke up with a jolt which caused Newt to stir beside me and ask if I had another nightmare. I shrugged it off and said that I couldn't remember hoping that he wouldn't question me any further on it. He luckily believed me and I breathed a sigh of relief. I wouldn't want for him to have to deal with it again anyways. He'd already been through enough. Since both of my running partners were gone ; Minho went earlier in the day with Alby to see where Ben went and if he were still alive or not; I decided to spend the day with Newt as well as Thomas and the other track hoes. As usual Thomas was very inquisitive as to the workings of the maze. I laughed when Newt started to get frustrated with Thomas since he wasn't helping, causing Chuck to not help either as he continued to badger Newt with questions. I'd never seen Newt get so annoyed with anyone until that moment as I cringed. Thomas eventually began to help and things seemed to be going well again. Unfortunately it began to rain later on in the day and everyone huddled under the boys sleeping quarters to keep dry. I was getting a little anxious due to Minho and Alby not being back but I continued to reassure myself that they were just retracing Ben's footsteps and that they were fine. Thomas on the other hand was very vocal about his worrying. Eventually I just walked over to him and clamped a hand over his mouth to keep him from asking repetitive questions, which caused Newt to let out a chuckle, happy that someone had stopped Thomas from asking questions. Eventually though the rain stopped and everyone was on edge as we all gathered by the entrance of the maze hoping to see them come around the corner any minute. I took Newt's hand trying to reassure him that things would be fine but I could tell that he was more worried than anyone else. I had grown to notice the little differences in his face depending on his emotions due to him not being one to be vocal about those sort of things. I gave his hand a reassuring squeeze and told him that they would make it. He looked at me and briefly squeezed back before turning his focus back to the maze. As we all started to give up hope that they were actually coming back the doors started to close and they appeared down the end of the hall. I instantly saw that Minho was carrying Alby and rushed into the maze to try and help. Newt calling my name and trying his best to hold me back. Thomas stupidly followed me in and we barely made it in before the doors closed. Tuning my head back one last time to see a look of dread in Newt's eyes as the doors slammed shut.
