I always stand up for what I believe in.

It's been a while since Noah went to church, so when she was given the opportunity to go with Brad and her grandfather, she had no idea what persuaded her to say yes.

She looked at herself in the mirror as she spread the nude lipstick she put on her lips, then she made a deep sigh. No matter how much she tried to fix herself, she felt that she was a broken person deep inside, especially since she still can't forgive herself for everything.

But, god, her moment with Brad yesterday made her hope that she'll learn how to forgive again. Maybe not today, but, hopefully, soon.

"Earth to Noah," she heard her grandfather say, then she turned around and looked at the door, where he was standing.

"Wow, you look all grown up," her grandfather said, then Noah rubbed her lips for one last time before replying.

"Thanks, grandpa," Noah said, then her grandfather smiled at her.

"We're leaving in a few minutes, okay?" Her grandfather told her, then Noah nodded her head. He then went away, then Noah put the things that she will need in a small sling bag that matched her baby pink dress.

She got up on her feet and opened her suitcase to get her black pumps, the only pair of heels that she brought with her. When her suitcase was opened, she heard something hit the floor, and when she looked at it, she saw that it was the necklace her stepfather gave her before she went away.

Noah took the necklace and examined it for any scratches or breaks, then she wore it to accessorize her outfit before putting her heels on. It didn't take long until she left her room and closed the door, then she started to walk down the stairs.

She saw Brad and her grandfather talking while they were sitting on the couch, and when she was completely downstairs, she put a smile on before clearing her throat, catching the attention of the two men.

They both turned their heads towards her, then their jaws dropped. Noah's grandfather looked very proud of her granddaughter, while Brad was completely struck by how she looked.

"Do I look that bad?" Noah asked them, then they both shook their heads at the same time.

"Not at all. You look very beautiful, Noah," her grandfather said, making her smile and say thank you, then when she turned to Brad, she saw him swallow the small lump in his throat, then he cleared his throat to speak.

"I agree. Well, we better go now or else we'll be late," Brad said, then they all go to church. The whole ride was silent, but if Brad had to be so honest with himself, he couldn't stop looking at Noah through the rearview mirror during the entire time.

She looked like a queen. A queen he'll never have.

They walked inside the church, then her grandfather immediately walked towards the front and sat at the piano bench. Brad, on the other hand, led her to a vacant pew and made her sit, then he sat right next to her. They sat still as they looked at her grandfather, who was tickling the ivories before the ceremony started.

"You look really beautiful," Brad whispered to Noah, who smiled.

"Thank you. You look handsome, by the way," Noah said, then Brad smiled at her.

"Thank you," Brad said, then he turned towards her grandfather again.

"Look at him. He's really good at playing the piano," Brad said, making Noah smile to herself as she recalled a memory.
