"I remember when I asked myself what would happen if I fall" Roger stared at April as they overlooked the horizon. 

"What do you mean?" April leaned onto his shoulder. This was the first time they had been away from their daughter since she was born and they both missed her dearly. Surprisingly, Christian was the best baby sitter when it came to Leilana. 

"I don't remember when it happened. When you switched from Jason's little brat of a sister to the girl who snuck her way into my heart but I remember how I felt. I kept asking myself. Should I let myself fall for you? I was so close to letting you go. But I knew you were special, and that I would spend the rest of my life looking for your love in other girls. I didn't want that. You were always going to be my wife"

"I remember the day I considered having a crush on you. It was when me and E planned to go clubbing and you boys bombed our plans. The way you acted that night towards me got me thinking we could be something more. And then when Jase passed away I ignore my feelings because I was in denial. I was in denial and scared because I didn't have my big brother to help me or give me advice" 

They both reflected on the early days of their relationship. It was crazy thinking about how they became in the first place. And now they had a daughter at home and another bun in the oven.

"During our rough patch... when I decided to run away from my problems in Hawaii ... I couldn't stop thinking about you. It was like, the harder I ran, the more I realised how deep I fell for you. I was terrified to admit it. You are literally my first everything and I had no prior experience" April shrugged.

The two continued their heart-to-heart as they watched the sunset. Over the last two years, they had gone through problems they never even imagined. And their love was put to the test with every single trial.

"Hi mamas" April smiled as Christian carried her daughter inside the house. Just like the way Leilana made Roger a softy, she had the same effect on Christian. Unlike her relationship with Roger, Christian was indeed Leilana's partner in crime. 

"If you don't break my neck with these kahoa lole's (lollie necklaces) then you're not my real sister" Christian chuckled kissing his sister on the forehead and heading back to his seat. No one imagined this day would come, where Christian Leaaetoa would walk across the stage in his gown, graduating high school.

Everyone made the trip to see this important moment. All the boys. Kenai & Lizzy even flew over. Although April would always use the smallest excuse for the two of them to fly over since she loved being around her niece just as much. 

The principal of the school finally announced Chris' name (or somewhat his name due to the mispronunciation) which caused the entire crowd the interrupt in cheering. Chris enjoyed hearing all the commotion which only hyped him up as he walked across the stage. Little Leilana even screamed seeing the amount of happiness across her uncles face.

A small tear left Aprils eyes.

She recalled the number of times she was in the room with Chris and his ex-principals discussing Chris' behaviours. And she recalled all the times where Chris would be suspended over stupid things or even skip school because he didn't enjoy it.

All these things were worth it. April knew that Jason was here in spirit form, happy to see his little brother graduate.

Oh, how April missed Jason with every breath she took.

As Chris walked off the stage, April and Kaea had showered him with lolly necklaces everywhere, which was up to his satisfaction. Chris attended a Christian school which meant the rest of the crowd was startled by Chris' family and their excitement as well as the many lolly necklaces in their presence. 

The family concluded the night at a restaurant where they would celebrate. And this was where Chris was finally confident enough to introduce his girlfriend of a year to his family.

"She's who?!" April choked on her water as Leilana began to giggle.

"Calm down. It's nice to meet you Aaliyah. I'm April's husband (lol he wishes) , Roger" Roger extended his hand to Chris girlfriend as she took a seat at the table. Good thing Roger was sitting next to April because he was the only person that could contain her sharp mouth.

The whole time, Aaliyah felt uncomfortable due to Chris' overprotective, older sister. 

Chris and the whole group erupted into a conversation about everything whilst April kept her mouth shut. She was lucky because Chris most likely started this relationship when she moved out and took Aprils focus on her child to his advantage.

"Can you calm down" Roger whispered into Aprils ear. The rest of the boys enjoyed seeing April contain herself because it looked like Chris was fearing for his life.

"So Aaliyah, did you attend to the same school as Chris?" - Kenai

"No, actually I'm in the year below" She angelically smiled. 

"April why are you so quiet" Una loved baiting April but this earned him a slap to the back of the head by Roman. April stood up and asked Aaliyah outside for a word as she placed Lana in her fathers lap.

"Since the beginning of time I've been protective over my brother because I want what's best for him. But now that I'm out of the house and I have a daughter, I won't be there like I used to be. I need you to do that. Always drive him to the best of his ability because I know he can go far. "

Aprils message left Aaliyah speechless. She wasn't expecting this as Chris always painted April to be a 'witch' when it came to girls for him. The two girls hugged and returned inside the restaurant with arms linked around each other. This made everyone raise a brow as April took her seat beside Roger.

"Should I be worried?" He asked. April grinned shaking her head, no. 

"I'd like to propose a toast. Congratulations to Christian for graduating high school, again welcome to Leilana to our amazing family as well as Aaliyah.  And very soon we'll be welcoming another child into this family. This family has come through and survived many trials and storms and we've always bounced back harder. Kenai, you already know your family to us and you are always welcomed to Sydney. So, to this family, the only people I need in this life" Roman raised his glass as everyone else joined. 

Everyone respected Roman and loved the father role he played to everyone. He was definitely the person who could fix this family if the worst ever happened. 

April smiled holding onto Rogers hand. She was happy and didn't need anything else in this life. Well she was keen to see what life will be like with another child. For a split second, she saw Jason standing beside her.

"Jase?" April stood up and narrowed her eyes at her brother.

"Hi sis, hows my niece?" Jason smiled staring at Leilana.

"What's going on?" April was confused to see her brother.

"Keep fighting" He gripped onto Aprils arm.

"What do you mean?" - April

"Keep fighting. Your times not up" Jason said once again which only made her confusion grow. Jason soon disappeared and April found herself on the ground.

"Roman call an ambulance!" Roger screamed dropping on the ground and placing Aprils head in his lap.
