where is god?

when god sent forth his angels
and poured his life into these trees
opened the heavens for adam and eve
i do not believe
he intended
for murder and gore
and bloodshed and war
for discrimination from brown to black
for women being held back
for lovers to be burnt on their rooftops
and his disciples to be shamed
for martyrs to be framed
as criminals
i don't believe a word you "christians" say
your lies only cause pain
you're not the same
as the community who raised
you and fed you and bathed
you.
you burnt away your ancestor's works
and all the wise men's words
and all because you wanted us to hurt
by god's excuse
that's why i'm leaving your "church"
it's all much too late
but we all need to find a god again
or we'll wind up drowning
from another flood
because right now, god is crying
our people are dying
our children are being torn away
and sent to camps
where they starve and shake
like dogs on the street
the hardest part is no one cares for either
my anger is a fever
when i think about the state of life we have
i wonder if earth could ever be saved
without god's grace
or will we be destined to burn?
our planet would become a hell and our politicians would still not learn
so i weep
i pray
i beg god to save us
if only to be let to love
if only to be let to live
if only to breathe and grow our plants
that's the world i want to be in
