He was happy while driving, no. Scratch that. He was elated with that simple act of hers. Sa sobrang saya niya ay para bang na-jackpot siya sa lotto. At nakapanalo nang isang milyon.

He was even smiling when he came out of the car. Sinalubong siya ng kaniyang mga kasamahan whose eyebrows were raising when they saw him smiling. It was eyebrow-raising simply because it was a rarity for him to smile that much.

"Uy, brad, kumusta? Masaya ata tayo ngayon ah?" tukso ni Kib sa kanya.

He smiled back at him. "Wala bro. Masaya pala ang maging masaya?" he said, followed by a hearty laughter.

"I'm happy for you pero you sound so creepy." Thomas said, placing his fingers in his head. "Siguro masaya ka dahil sinagot ka na ni Mika, noh? Yiee." sabi pa ng kaibigan na may kasamang sundot pa sa tagiliran.

"Hindi, bro. Malayo pa ang lalakbayin ko kung gusto kong mangyari 'yon." he answered.

Come to think of it, had she truly moved on from Axel already? He hadn't really thought of that but one thing's for sure. No matter happens, he'll go for it.

High risk, high reward.

Kumakain sila at nagkukuwentuhan ng biglang dumating si Thomas. He was smiling while getting their attention.

"Mga brad, invited nga pala tayo sa isang birthday party bukas sa isang resort sa Puerto Galera." he was beaming with excitement. "Ano tara?" Thomas asked.

"Kaninong party 'yan ha?" Kib asked. "Siguro sa chicks mo noh. Yiee." mapang-asar na sabi nito sa kanya.

Thomas smiled back. "Hindi." he said firmly. "Birthday nung classmate ko." dagdag pa niya sa sinabi.

"Sinong classmate?" Prince, on the other side of the table, asked.

Bago niya sagutin ang tanong na iyon ay ngumiti muna si Thomas. "Si Alexandria."

Jeron, who was on the same side of the table as Prince suddenly choked on his food.

Agad naman siyang binigyan ng tubig ni Prince. "Oh, Kuya Jeron, dahan dahan sa pagkain." Prince joked but almost regretted it when Jeron looked at him annoyingly.

"What?! That Alexandria?!" sigaw ni Jeron. "Hindi ako sasama." mapaklang sabi nito.

Everyone reacted with his statement.

"Ano ba 'yan! Napaka-KJ!" sigaw ni Thomas.

"Oo nga! Weak!" tukso ni Kib sa kanya.

Prince who was listening didn't get what they were saying. "Huh? Sino ba 'yun? Bakit parang ang sama ata ng tingin ni Kuya Jeron marininig niya lang yung pangalan na yun?" kunot noong tanong nito.

Jeron grimaced when the flashes of image started to play in his mind. "Basta. Di na talaga ako sasama."

The loud noises coming from the kitchen woke him up. Gusto pa niya sanang matulog pero hindi na niya nagawa pa.  Irritatingly, he fixed his bed and proceeded downstairs.

He gave them a bored look when he saw them excited. There was nothing really exciting about the day rather than just seeing Mika, of course. Lately, she had been the only reason for his smiles.
