Chapter 12

Ayumi's POV

After so long, Ai-chan and Conan-kun finally showed up this morning. They came together and almost late for the first period. Ai-chan doesn't look healthy. Maybe she got sick while they're overseas.

We were so happy to see them both and there's so many questions we want to ask. But Conan-kun drives us out. And the thing that bothering me was he held Ai-chan's hand until they arrived in their seat. Maybe it's because they almost late and they ran away through the hallway while holding hands. It's nothing I should worry about I guess, friends do that kind of things.

"Should we go to the Professor's house? There's clearly something happened to Haibara-san" it's Mitsuhiko-kun who came up with the idea.

"Yeah, let's go. And I'm also hungry, Professor must have something good to eat. I can imagine an eel rice right now."

"Geez, Genta-kun. We're not going there to eat, we supposed to check on Ai-chan" That's Genta-kun for you, always about food. But he's not a bad boy, he just eat too much. That's all.

While we agree to head to Professor's house, I spotted someone familiar.

"Ran-Neechan" I called and run closer to her. She's on her way with Sonoko-Neechan.

"Ayumi-chan! And Genta-kun and Mitsuhiko-kun also. What are you guys up to?"

"We are about to go to Professor's house because we worried about Haibara-san" Mitsuhiko-kun tells her the whole story in school today.

"So they both go to school today? Huuuh, Conan-kun didn't tell me about it this morning"

"Huuuh? How could you didn't notice Conan-kun leaving your house, Ran-Neechan, you were leaving in the same house." Genta-kun asked her while giving her an are-you-dumb look on his face.

"Aaaah. Sorry, it's because Conan-kun's staying in the Professor's house these days."

Huuuh. So Conan-kun's staying with Ai-chan all this time. I feel like I'm gonna cry, and I suddenly don't want to go to the Professor's house. I look down on my heel, holding my tears.

"Leave that lovey-dovey couple alone, do you kids want to come with us to the new ice cream cafe nearby?"

"Sure do!"

"Genta-kun! You're always easily distracted by food. We're still going to check on Haibara-san first."

"Huuuuhh, why don't we go to the ice cream cafe first and after that we can continue our way to the Professor's house?"

"I think I would like to eat ice cream too" I answer quietly.

"Ayumi-chan?" Mitsuhiko-kun give me a confused look. I don't usually disagree with him, but I don't feel like seeing Conan-kun and Ai-chan right now.

"Let's go eat the ice cream. Besides, I think Ai-chan's been feeling unwell right now. Maybe it's better if we give her time to rest. After all, Conan-kun's watching over her right now. And the Professor too. You guys should not worry too much" Ran-Neechan give us a warm and angel like smile. She's really pretty that makes my heart at ease a little.

"Ran-Neechan is right. Let's not bother Ai-chan today, we could ask Conan-kun to bring us there tomorrow after school." I cheerfully say to them. Mitsuhiko-kun still won't give it a rest at first, but he followed us anyway.

We order all kind of ice cream available on the menu. It's Sonoko-Neechan's treat, like she used to do. While the other are busy with their delicious dessert, I talk to Ran-Neechan quietly. I need to talk to someone about how I feel unless I wouldn't able to fall asleep tonight.
