Ai's POV
Instead of making one antidote, I tried to divide it into three separate pills. I just thought that this concept will be a less harmful to our cells. The first two is done, but the final stage would be hard to accomplished. I need certain chemical materials that would need a licensed chemist to get this. I hope Professor could do something about it.
"Haibara?"
Huuh, this is getting old.
"Are you gonna stay in this house forever, Kudo-kun? You seemed to have a lot of free time lately. Why don't you go out and play? There are a lot of corpses to be found somewhere"
In my shock, he grabbed my waist and dragged me out of my chair. I can't even grasp the situation while he pull my hand, and again, dragged me out of the lab.
"It's dinner" he said, not looking at me, and took a seat next to me. Ah, so it's dark already.
"You've been down there forever, Ai-kun. So Shinichi thought it would be best to get you out of there instead of bringing the dinner to you"
"I'm sorry, I didn't know the sun already set"
The guy next to me still giving me the silent attitude. Let's see how his reaction will dramatically changed when I told him the antidote is near to finish.
"It's just a step away for the antidote to finish. You will be taking three stages simultaneously in a given time but you have to be patient with the result. I'm not sure this will last, but the chance of this one is getting permanent is close to 98 percent. You can take the first two stages I already finished in few days later. I just need some help from you, Professor. I need materials and I couldn't get it without any help."
"Aahh, sure, Ai-kun. Let's see what I can do with that. Just write me down the materials you need."
"Say, you'll be back to your old self and running around solving cases you loved the most." And going back to your sweet girlfriend of the detective agency. Of course I wouldn't say the last part out loud. He would recognize my bitter voice right away. As if he would care about that, stupid Shiho.
"Thank you for your hard work" he replied.
Okay, that was not the reaction I expected. He would usually become like "Really, Haibara? Give me that now, hurry up!", or like "Yes! Finally! I wouldn't be trapped in this damn body any longer" and jump around like an crazy old man winning lotteries. But his reaction now gives me chill. I turn away my face towards him in confusion. What is wrong with him today?
He feels my gaze at him and turn his face on me. "Don't look at me with a scary face, I still don't like it when you lock yourself away and lose track of time." He turn away again and continue with the dinner. The Professor gave an awkward cough and we finish our dinner in silent.
I got back to the lab as soon as I finished the dinner. I didn't intend to have another series of quarrel with him. He's acting unusually fussy lately, and here I wonder why he's being so dramatic. The one supposed to be dramatic was me, for God's sake. He didn't even get excited by hearing the news about the antidote. Hhh, he's becoming quite bothersome.
I'm doing a triple check on the two formula I've finished. This should be okay, for all of the test subjects show stability in their vitals. There are no errors so far, but i want to analyze it for another week. If all the mice show no fatality, I could just give it to Kudo-kun.
"This is the first time I see you play with mice"
Speaking of the devil. I was just thinking about you, and here you are. I didn't reply and keep checking the vitals.
