Chapter 22

Ayumi's POV

Conan-kun skipped school again, today. Lately, both Ai-chan and Conan-kun are skipping school simultaneously. And when just one of them came to school, the explanation is somewhat off. Like they were hiding something. Moreover, they've been staying in the Professor's house for a while now. Are they in a relationship by now? Could it be that they were playing husband and wife?

Even though Ai-chan came to school today, she didn't say much. She's not a chatty kind of person, alright, but today she's more quiet than usual. Meanwhile, she just answer everyone's question with the same line. Everything is fine, you don't need to worry. That's what she said, but her eyes shows the opposite.

The last period feels longer than ever. Ai-chan was asking for teacher's permission a while ago to go to the restroom. But now, I see her under the tree in the school yard. So she wasn't really going to the restroom. I look closer from the classroom window. Yes, it's really Ai-chan and she's with someone. A stranger. Who is that auntie? Why would Ai-chan told a lie to meet with a stranger?

Agasa's POV

Shinichi has been asleep for about twenty hours now. According to Ai-kun, there's nothing wrong with his vitals yet he still asleep like a sleeping beauty.

What excites me was how he countlessly calling out Ai-kun's name in his sleep. I wonder what kind of dream he has been having until now.

"I wonder what he is dreaming about. I kinda hope it was a good dream, but I kinda feel it shouldn't be that way. Ugh, I don't know how to put it into words."

"Well, Heiji-kun, you just speaking what's inside my mind out loud."

"I did? Well, good thing I wasn't the only one to think it that way."

"Yeah, I also don't know how to react to this."

"I know, right? They're getting closer to another levels everyday."

"But Shinichi didn't think it the way we see it."

"He's a great detective, alright, but he's also a moron when it comes to his love life."

"Both of these girls are charming in their own and different ways."

"A total opposite from each other."

"Hai.. bara"

"How much has it been exactly, professor?"

"What is?"

"The Kudo calling Haibara out of nowhere."

"I already lost my count from a while ago."

Shinichi's POV

Darkness is all I can see around me now. A while ago, she was here standing next to me. She was hiding behind my back, asking for protection. It's what she always do. Kudo-kun, was the last word I heard before a total darkness took her away from me.

I was wandering around looking for any signs of her. But I can't see anything and I haven't bumped into anything from a while ago. What is this place? How could we ended up in this place earlier? Damn it, I can't remember anything at all.

I suddenly hear a buzz coming from my right pocket. It's the Detective Badge. Of course, she had this one on her. How could this didn't across my mind at all.

"Haibara, is that you?"

No reply. Wait, I should have brought my glasses somewhere. I could use the tracker on the glasses to track Haibara's badge. Where was it? The left pocket? Found it!
