Chapter 14

Agasa's POV

I don't have the courage to break their silent attitude. I overheard everything last night while I was about to deliver some tea for them both. They're definitely care towards each other, in their own unique way I might say. This is getting complicated and I don't have any love experience in my life to help them resolve. How useless.

"Professor!" I hear Shinichi yelled.

"Aaahhh, yes, Shinichi? What was it again?"

"Seriously, Professor! Listen to me well, would you?"

"I'm sorry I lost in thought. So, you were saying?"

"Can you help me prevent Haibara from taking the antidote for herself?"

"Why?"

"You see, we have some difficult conversation last night," he said that while averting my eyes, "so anyway, I got this feeling she would take the final antidote for herself first before she give it to me."

"And how is that would be any problem?"

"Think, Professor. She intends to go after the organization herself because she was afraid that everyone else would die because of her."

"She was planning to do that??"

"If my deduction is correct, she wants to turn herself in and doing a bargain with them to protect all of us. I will think of a way to get her out of here."

"But, Shinichi, how could you arrive at such conclusion? If she's planning to do it that way, she won't tell us she finished the first two of the antidote. She could just hide the fact and leave us behind"

"It's the nightmare. She saw me dead in her sleep, that's why she was calling out my name that day. The first two stages of the antidote might be dangerous and painful. And if I'm right, she wants to make sure I'm getting through these two stages safely. That's the reason why she told us about the first two. I saw her checking the mice vitals repeatedly, surely because she needs to do this right."

"But if she wants to leave us from the start, I mean she could still just leave you being in this body forever"

"No, she wouldn't do that. She's a woman with her words. Once she said she would give me the antidote, she would never break that promise. I presume she was seeing me dead in my original body, and the fact that I was killed in that she became afraid to give me the whole antidote. That's why, she would take for herself first while leaving a prepared one for me and she would search for them all alone. And with that, she didn't break her promise while also sacrificing herself to try to protect us. That's the thing I didn't like of her, doing a stupid things despite being a brilliant scientist"

"So what are we gonna do, Shinichi?"

"I haven't got any plan for now, but I'll come up with something."

"Okay, Shinichi. And make sure you keep me informed."

"Sure do. Well, I'm going to my house to keep up with everyone. I'll be back at dinner."

"Ah wait Shinichi, can I ask you about another thing?"

"What is it? Something to do with Haibara?"

"Aaaah.. Yes, actually, I don't know how to put this. But, I overheard a little about your conversation last night and I'm sorry about that."

"Ahhh. So you heard us"

"No need to be nervous about that, I'm sorry I didn't mean to eavesdrop. You see, my question is related to your behavior. Do you somehow have something different in your mind about Ai-kun?"
