Erin/ Brookes POV
Julian and myself, got the morning to ourselves. We talked about my life in Chicago and some of the interesting situations I got myself into whilst there. "I wish you told me" Julian says, fiddling with my curled hair. "Im sorry, I just kinda wanted to forget about everything there" I apologise, tilting my head backwards so my eyes can meet his. "Whats done is done okay. I love you no matter what and always will- we've all done stuff we arent proud of" Julian reassures, making me feel more relaxed and at ease. "You don't need to tell me that" I joke, trying to lighten the mood. Suddenly the knock of the door, echoes through the house, breaking up the moment between Julian and myself. "Your back early" I say, opening the door to see Hallie and Jay standing there. "Ye" Jay say, his lips turned inwards and eyebrows raised as Hallie runs straight past to the stairs. "What happened?" I ask, concerned for Hallie. "She took me to the high-school and started talking about Keith" Jay replies as he comes into the living area. "Oh no" I sigh, putting my hands into my head. "What?" Jay asks alarmed. "Her mum was shot dead. She must have got told about it from the annual ceremony they have" Julian explains, as I stand there frozen. Anytime that day is bought up, somthing in me freezes up for somereason. "Brooke!" Jay snaps, waving his hand infront of my face, brining me back to earth. "Ye, sorry" I shake my head, receiving Jays 'you good look?'. "Lets go check on Hallie...you to Jay" Julian beckons for Jay to follow.
General POV
Jay, Julian and Erin make there way to Hallies room, tiptoeing over the creeky floor boards. "Knock, knock" Erin whispers before opening Hallies door. "Mom, im fine. You don't need to check on me" Hallie muffles, clearly still crying into something like a pillow. "We do becuase were your parents" Julian says, as both him and Erin walk over to her bedside. "Im sorry, we walked past unintentionally. I just stopped and started talking to Jay about the shooting you and Payton were caught in" Hallie cries, apologising for being emotional. "Hey, you got nothing to be sorry for. Jays a great guy to talk to about stuff like that, he knows alot about that kinda stuff" Erin says, wiping the tears off Hallies face. Jay stands there by the door way, watching Erin being an amazing, caring mother he always wished for her. Even though it wasnt as happy moment, watching Erin like this forced a small smile to creep across Jays face. "Come over Jay" Julian invites, looking behind him for Jay. "How do you know so much?" Hallie asks curiously, sitting up straight on her bed. "Veteran and Detective" Jay replies, looking to Erin who's giving him the supportive look she always did. "Wow, your cool Jay" Hallie smiles, all of a sudden admiring Jay. "Well, people have said that before" Jay jokes causing everyone to let of a small chuckle. "I like you Jay, your cool" Hallie smiles, causing Jay, Erin and Julian to release there breath that they didn't know they were holding.
