General POV

Jay was walking down the promenard area, the day was sunny and the sunlight reflection made the water glisten. The birds were chirping in the background as he watched families laugh and chatter amongst themselves. The last three days he had been in Tree Hill the more he fell in love with the town. Jays quite relaxing, was interrupted when his phone started to vibrate in his jeans pocket. "Halstead" Jay answeres. "Hi, its Julian. We had to tell Hallie" Julian says. Jays face dropps and he stops in his tracks- right in the middle of the path. "How'd she take it?" Jay nervously asks, his heart beating ten-to-the-duzzen. "Really well, seems you charmed her over yesterday. She wants to talk to you- alone" Julian replies. "Yes, ofcourse. When?" Julian asks, happy and eagerly. "Whenever" Julian states. "An hour at that cafe place" Jay suggests, meaning Karens cafe. "Okay, Brooke will drop her off" Julian agrees before hanging up. "Nice talking to you" Jay sighs sarcastically.

An hour later,Hallie is sitting at a bar table in Karens nervously waiting for Jay to walk in. All she keeps thinking is if he is going to show up, is he just being nice to her becuase of Erin? She's about to chicken out when Jay walks though to door, scanning the place till he sees Hallie. "Jay" Hallie shouts to grab Jays attention. "Hey" He smiles as her walks over to her. "Your dad said you wanted to talk alone" Jay starts off the conversation to try and take some pressure off Hallie. "Yes, sorry for bothering you" Hallie apologieses. "Your not" Jay smiles reasuringly- calming Hallies nevers down a dile or two. "If you knew about me, would you have still not talked to my mum?" Hallie asks, jumping straight into the deep end. "I would never abandon my child deliberately. If I knew about you I would've done my best for you; to see you, to take care of you, drive you to and from school" Jay explains, making sure Hallie knows he didnt abandon her out of spite of whatever. "I didnt think you seemed like that kinda guy. I just wanted to double check- sorry I had to check" Hallie once again apologises. "Stop apologising. You want a drink or something to eat? Ill buy" Jay asks, wanting to buy something for his daughter. "If your sure, can I please have a coffee? If you tell the lady working that its for me, she'll know how to make it properly. Brookes coffee is the best, so Hayley does it specially for me" Hallie asks politely, making sure she gets the coffee she likes. "Your moms turned you into a crazy fussy coffee person" Jay laughs as he stands up to go order. Once Jay comes back with the orders, they sit there talking about anything under the sun. From Hallies school stories to Jays crazy action stories, some making them both gasp and others making them bend over laughing. "When we go to Chicago, can I come to your work?" Hallie asks, loving the whole detective thing cooler by the minute. "Difinatley, there's a desk Sargent Platt- who's mean- and was only ever nice to your mum. Everyone else got the cold shoulder and your mum got a chirpy 'morning Erin" Jay smiles, mocking Platts greetings. "Platt? Is that Kris Kellers Aunt?" Hallie asks, kinda shocked. "You know him too?" Jay asks. "Yep, hes so annoying" Hallie moans, before they both point out the 3rd person talk, before burst out laughing. "Living with him is awful" Jay chuckles, taking a swig of his mocha. "Is that where your staying? God bless you" Hallie giggles. "Ya. As much as I'm enjoying this, we should probaly get you back to your parent's" Jay adds, standing up. "Ugh" Hallie grunts, jumping off the seat. She loves spending time with Jay and didnt want it to end; he was funny, kind, goofy and fun to be around.
