Kai tried desperately to touch the red flag that was many feet in the air. Airjitzu was the key, and he was so close every time.
"Oh, come on."
Ronin was watching from the top, a small laugh escaping him. "Aw, just short. Like your temper, Kai!"
"Let me try," Jay stepped up. "I'm for sure a better Airjitzu'er than you, Kai."
"Oh yeah? And when did that happen?"
"Like now!"
And when the blue ninja tried, he had the same result as Kai—stopping just under the flag and then falling back onto the deck.
"Oh, yeah," Kai taunted with a grin. "That was so much better than me."
"It... it was!"
"Technically, wouldn't Zane and I be the better ones?" Scarlett pointed out with a small smile—the nindroid also seemed in agreement. "We did learn Airjitzu already, after all."
"Would've been nice if you included us in that, though..." Kai mumbled, turning his head away with his hands behind his back.
"That wasn't Airjitzu, that was Failitzu!" Ronin teased Jay.
"Hey... okay, so let's see it, then!" Jay shouted, hands on his waist as he looked at both Scarlett and Zane. "Prove you guys are better."
The two ninjas looked at each other, shrugged, and then jumped, the small tornadoes of their respective colors appearing under them, their bodies surrounded in a sphere. Scarlett's was the color of her name, and Zane's was white.
They had effortlessly risen up and touched the flag. Ronin looked at them and down at the two boys, who were struck with awe. "Now that's Airjitzu."
Then they were both on the ground once more.
"See?" Scarlett grinned over to Jay, who let out a little hmph and turned away.
Wu then walked out. "It's good to see that you're slowly, but surely, all learning Airjitzu. However, to master it, we must uplift, not put each other down, Ronin."
"You close shop for a week," Ronin spoke, taking a bite out of his apple. "You gotta let me have some fun."
"Then go fight my brother," Scarlett told him, placing her hands on her hips. "You're physically fit but no offense, Ronin.... your fighting skills could use some work."
"Haven't had too much of a reason to fight until you all showed up... and hey, he's no different from me."
"He swings an axe around and can conjure up whatever the hell he wants... I think it'd be some great training," Jay grinned.
"Anyway... my shoulders are starting to hurt. Do we really have to get used to these new suits?" Scarlett asked.
"Yes. They are embedded with Deepstone, and so they will protect you from being possessed," Wu answered.
The suits weren't much different from the last ones—the most notable change was the armor-like stone on their shoulders, but in truth the entire gi had been altered. They all looked just a little glossier, too.
"And maybe the name Airjitzu isn't uplifting enough! Maybe we need something more inspiring..." Jay suggested. "Like... Cyclondo!"
With a shout, he jumped and his blue tornado appeared under him, but instead of actually touching the flag, he flipped over it. Ronin teased him, but shouted a "Hey!" when his apple was taken in the process.
