The Uchiha Princess

~.Chapter - 9.~

Time flew by and day by day Makaira grew stronger and stronger, soon it was time for her evaluation to see if she is ready to join the current graduating batch or join the next one. Sasuke had been training with her every single day. Today was the day, all the effort would be tested, Makaira was scheduled to be tested in the late afternoon as the Hokage requested to be present during her test, Sasuke was going to be there as well. Sasuke made sure she had a good breakfast, took a small quiz just to prep her, Makaira found it a little amusing that he was more worried about it than she was.

She put on her outfit, it was a simple dark short sleeveless kimono, with the Uchiha clan symbol on the back but it hid behind her long hair. She wore shorts underneath and the usual shoes worn by everyone. Makaira wanted her outfit to be more functional than decorative. She was well aware that in missions pretty outfits are not gonna save her, she had hidden pockets and she made some more additional changes to it. Sasuke was fine with her choice as long as she was comfortable in it and able to defend herself.

The evaluation would take place after everyone had left and only a select few people are present. So they were there 5 minutes early as Makaira wanted to put a good impression. Sasuke was fine with it, he wanted to get it over with but when it started, he was requested to stay out and that the Hokage will be the one testing her. Makaira was fine with it, Sasuke wanted to protest but he didn't understand the need of it. Sasuke squeezed her hand and let go, Makaira walked into the room and stood in front of the Hokage.

Standing in front of the Hokage waiting for him to say something, but he simply passed her the headband that meant she was a genin now. She held it in her hands watching him confused.  "I've seen you train, with Sasuke and without him. I wouldn't have expected anything less from you, Makaira. Your brother always spoke very highly of you. And i was made aware of your capabilities when you were just a kid but since you are an Uchiha there was nothing i could do then to help you improve them but now i can."

Makaira tilted her head in confusion, trying to understand what it means, he could have done this before, if he was gonna pass her anyway. But then it clicked, there was something he wants her to do.

"You want me to do something for you." It was not a question, she stated it clearly for him to know that she is smart.

"You will join the academy from tomorrow since it's only few weeks left before graduation. You can get familiar with your classmates and potential teammates before being placed in a team. But while at that, I want you to take special classes from our best so, you will be able to protect and keep yourself alive no matter the situation. You are The Princess, you will have a prize on your head from the moment your existence is announced."

"We are sorry for the past but i will make sure nothing can corrupt the future of the village"

Makaira's eyes darkened a bit when he mentioned the past but she calmed herself down remembering her promise to her brother, she can not change what has happened but she can control now and doing so the future as well. No one knew that Makaira knew the truth behind it but she promised that she would never reveal it to anyone. Not even Sasuke.

"Let my training start after graduation. Sasuke will not be leaving me alone due to obvious reasons but once we are genin i might be able to take some time out it. I will hide my headband for now. Let us wait for everyone" She was calm and collected through it all, she hardly changed her expression or body language, she was calm through it all.  Hokage agreed to it and she hid her headband in a scroll she carried so she could keep it hidden from Sasuke for now. She was excited to start classes from tomorrow! She always dreamed of it like how it would be to go to the academy, learn and make friends! But as a child, she never got the chance to.

She walked out, Sasuke just waiting outside as she jumped on him excited, telling him that she passed and can start from tomorrow!! Sasuke smirked and decided to celebrate by eating outside today. "What do you want to eat? We have to celebrate this!" Sasuke asked her.

"Ramen!!" The reply was instant without even a second wasted. It was then Makaira noticed how late was it, she had gone in when it was late afternoon and the sun was down and through the window, she could see the dark sky. Chuckling, Sasuke pulled her along towards Ichiraku Ramen because he remembered the time when Shishu took the two of them there and how much she loved the ramen there.

They had their choice of ramen, the look on Makaira's face was so childlike that lit up at the sight of ramen, Sasuke made sure that she ate healthy food while she was recovering and he didn't know how to make ramen adding to the fact he didn't want her to cook and stress herself so they had been eating extremely healthy for some time now and the sight of ramen was like the gift from God. Sasuke enjoyed looking at her more than he enjoyed the ramen. They both payed for the Ramen and were about to leave when suddenly there were a bunch of girls inside there trying to talk to Sasuke who seemed to be getting annoyed but kept his face blank but Makaira knew him like the back of her hands, she could hardly keep herself from laughing while Sasuke glared at her.

She decided to save him from his miserable condition and pulled him away from them as the girls shouted at her for touching their Sasuke - Kun. She raised a brow at Sasuke who looked like he wanted to get away from her. She winked at him and teleported them back to their home, away from the loud noise leaving the girls confused at their sudden disappearance. She sighed know tomorrow was not going to be easy. She knew that Fan-girls can be crazy, she had dealt with them whenever her brother would take her out for their outing, they would try to impress her, bribe her and even threaten her to get close to her brother. She shuddered at those memories, she rather not deal with them.

Sasuke thanked her for the escape and they both decided to get some rest because tomorrow was going to be one heach of a day. She lay on her bed looking out of her window at the night sky when she heard a knock before the door opening. Sasuke lay down beside her, looking at the stars and held her hand that brought a smile on her face knowing that no matter what, Sasuke will always be here, she would always have someone to watch the stars with because Sasuke always kept his word, he would never break a promise, not the ones he made to her. That's for sure. Sleep soon took over her as the exhaustion of the day crept up to her, she closed her eyes.

"Goodnight, Hime"

She felt someone poke her forehead lightly and pull a blanket over her and she was out.
