Changbin groaned quietly, afraid to wake up the sleeping boy on the other side of the room. It seemed to be that he was having the same problem as you and Chris for once.

It wasn't that he didn't want to sleep; in fact, he'd even go back to his latest dream if he had the chance. But he couldn't that night, and the reason was anything but unknown.

Turns out, you weren't the only one who felt flustered at what happened at the cookout earlier. Heck, the restless boy was worse than you since the scenario's been haunting him ever since it came.

He knew what he was thinking was wrong—how could he betray his best friend like that? But even with that knowledge, Changbin couldn't stop his conscience from tantalizing him every second he could be asleep.

All the while you were in his head, his heart would flutter shyly, as if he could be caught anytime soon, but yet, still thinking that what he was doing was wrong in so many levels. He tried expelling you from his mind, throwing the image of you into a deep pool where all his other useless thoughts drowned mercilessly, but your image remained afloat.

What was he thinking? He loved Seungmin like his own little brother. Never once did he think about crushing the innocent and precious boy like that, but his subconsciousness was ruining that moral.

Someone save him as he couldn't get out of this alone, but the shame that'd loom over him like Rapunzel's gloomy tower once he speaks of this to anyone would be too much for him to handle. He wasn't ready for that yet.

Instead, he planned to do this the hard and painful way, going against his will and doing this without anyone's help. Changbin made clear to himself that he had to get past this petty stage, and only tell anyone after he had succeeded.

Gathering all of what's left of his right mind, he swore to never let evil tempt him with its devilish ways, but for now, all he needed was a break.

Cautiously, he stepped down from his bed, taking his laptop, phone, and earphones with him. Within minutes, he was out of the house, sat on the grass of a nearby park when everyone was fast asleep.

——

"Hyung, what happened to you?" Felix asks, growing worried over the boy's state.

It was no surprise that Changbin had woken up with dark bags under his eyes, no surprise to him, at least. He had gotten home at around 5 in the morning. And upon hearing the worry in Felix's tone, Chris ran over as quick as he could, only to be left in shock.

"Changbin, what happened? Did you not get any sleep last night?"

The boy in question immediately closed his eyes momentarily, managing his minor headache before thinking about how you were his main subject last night.

What a night...

"Enough yapping. Just go get ready and be here by 8. I rented a car because we have a Christopher Bang and who walks these days. The drive is exactly an hour long so we get there by 9. Oh, and you could sleep in the car," you jump in, holding your phone in your hand as you checked the opening time of the store for the umpteenth time, just making sure you wouldn't have to wait under the burning sun.

It wasn't even an hour until your call time, but you had been rushing around the house, telling everyone to wake up and get ready as if you only had five minutes left. Let's just say, you loved being early.

Without a single glance, you left for your room, the three boys staring at you confusedly before doing the same.

"Are you bringing a bag?" You ask Seungmin once you had entered your shared room. You definitely needed someone to keep your phone for you while you're off playing with puppies or you'd lose it by forgetting where you had placed it. Yeah, you were responsible, but when something distracts you, you tend to lose focus.
