"I brought the stuff," Jeongin yells through the empty hallways of the house, making sure to lock the door behind him.

"Granny, I got you some fruits and a new scarf," the boy beams, dropping his bags down on the floor and picking up the red scarf that he had just bought for her the other day. Jeongin paces over to where your grandmother was, carefully wrapping the piece of cloth around her. "Do you like it?"

"You always loved scarves."

"Yeah, later, okay? Jeongin and I are studying for our finals," you speak over the phone.

It was the last Saturday of the semester, and the two of you were at your last year of college. You were preparing for your final exams which was obviously a big deal, so Jeongin insisted you two continue studying together. You both were taking some similar courses anyway, he figured it'd be best to not be alone while eagerly flipping through thick textbooks.

"What'd he say?" Jeongin asks, placing his pen on the table as his head rests on his hand.

"Just typical movie night," you tell him, quickly getting back to a practice exam you found online.

Jeongin sighs a little as he lays back on his chair, stretching his arms above his head as he seemed to have been sick of answering the online quizzes.

"Minju, you've been studying nonstop for this past week."

But you only hum in response to his tired voice, not losing track of the numerous questions on your laptop screen.

"Did you even go to the bathroom today?"

You shook your head.

"Did you drink or eat anything?"

You shook your head again.

You hear him sigh once more, but this time, in a disappointed yet sad tone. But you didn't bother to take a glance, only keeping your attention on the bright screen in front of you.

"Don't put all your focus on books, Minju. You're going to get sick from going days without eating. I bought you your favourite food yesterday, didn't you eat that?"

And shyly, you shook your head.

He didn't sound like his normal self. He didn't have the usual, happiness in his voice. You were so focused on acing these exams that you completely forgot about your health.

And now that Jeongin was with you, you felt so scared to disappoint him even more than he already was.

You dropped your pen in slight unwillingness, slowly turning around in your chair to look at the boy.

As expected, he had a glum but upset look on his face, one that you hadn't seen in such a long time.

Jeongin felt hurt from seeing you ruin your body, as if someone had punched his heart repeatedly. He knew how much you wanted to get amazing results, and he really did want you to work hard. But he felt like he had failed as an older brother—only now was he hearing that you weren't even feeding yourself.

Staring at you without saying anything at all, Jeongin then abruptly stood up, proceeding to head downstairs.

You sat there guiltily, your gaze now fixating onto the sleeves of your hoodie. You started feeling disappointed in yourself, as well.

Uncontrollably, your eyes went back to the books and the laptop on your table, but you resisted. You stopped your hand from grabbing the pen and touching the keys, only thinking about how you could make it up to your concerned best friend.
