Nick Wilde continued to stare at Kane Karter and was so shocked that he couldn't say anything. "From the look on your face, I take it that humans don't exist here," Kane said.

Nick hadn't heard what Kane had just said as he was too baffled, surprised and lost in his thoughts to listen to him. "What-what the fuck are you!?" Nick gasped in fear and amazement.

"Didn't you just hear what I just said? I'm a human! HUMAN!" Kane told Nick Wilde in an annoyed tone of voice. "I hate having to repeat myself to others!"

"Human?" Nick Wilde spoke. "I've never even heard of the word 'human' before!"

"That's because I'm not even from this world and on this planet, humans obviously never existed, at least until now, that is!" Kane replied before he grabbed a cigarette and a lighter he had stolen from that gas station earlier, lit the cigarette and began to smoke. "That's the stuff!"

"Wait! You're an alien!?" Nick Wilde freaked, now fearing what Kane's presence in Zootopia could mean. "Are you an alien scout sent here from your planet to spy on us and gather intel and learn all our strengths and weaknesses!? Are you planning an invasion!?"

Nick stopped what he was saying as Kane blew a puff of smoke from his mouth right into Nick's face, causing the poor, red fox to cough. "Look, you red Furby! I'm a human and my name is Kane Karter! Period!" Kane shouted at Nick.

"Why are you here?" Nick demanded after his coughing had ended. "What reason do you have for being in Zootopia in the first place?"

"Hey! I didn't choose to come here!" Kane answered.

"Then, why are you here and more importantly, how come you haven't already left and went back to wherever you came from yet?" Nick inquired.

"The heck I should know! I just found myself alone and in an empty alley in this city on this world and I can't remember anything between yesterday, when I was still on my world and earlier today, when I found myself here! That part is a complete blank to me!" Kane admitted. "But trust me! I would love nothing more than to get off this looney train and go home, so that I can go back to having some good, old 'fun' like I always do!"

"You mean to say you're stuck here?" Nick asked.

"No. I'm waiting for a taxi with wings to come down from the sky and take me home! Of course, I'm stuck here, idiot! What do you think?" Kane told Nick.

"So, then, what are you gonna do?" Nick said.

Kane was about to answer Nick's question, but he paused as he remembered what he and The Watcher had discussed earlier. Kane wanted to talk to him, but he didn't want Nick to think he was even weirder than he already was to him by doing so, since only he could hear The Watcher and Nick wouldn't be able to hear anything.

Kane then recalled that he had that microscopic chip attached to his central nervous system now and he wondered if he could still communicate with The Watcher just by thinking of what he wanted to say to him. There was only one way to find out.
