Back to Kane and Nick Wilde, the strange duo were both still riding around inside the car Kane had stolen, only now the sun had gone down and it was dark and past 9:20PM at night. Apparently it was taking Kane longer than he had thought to find a good and decent hideout for him and Nick Wilde to stay at.
Eventually, Kane did find a good place for him and Nick to take refuge at in the form of an old and abandoned warehouse. When Nick and Kane got out of the car and went inside said warehouse, they were immediately greeted with the scent of old fish and dirt.
This was because the warehouse in question had once been used to store fish before they were sent to shops and restaurants in Zootopia to be sold and eaten by hungry pred customers. The warehouse had closed its doors and had been abandoned since then for 8 years for unknown reasons and even after all these years, it still reeked of fish!
Despite being a predator and having eaten fish before himself, Nick was by no means happy about the smell. "Seriously! This is where we're staying!?" Nick cried out in disgust. "This place is so dirty and that fish smell is driving me nuts!"
"That just makes this a better hideout for us," Kane said, not bothered at all by the smell of the fish or how dirty the place was. "It's no fancy hotel, but I've stayed at worse places than this in the past."
Then, Nick felt his stomach growling, which made him realize that he hadn't eaten anything for awhile now. Nick knew that it was already getting late and it would be an odd time to eat, but thought there would be no harm in having a late dinner.
Nick then asked Kane about what they were going to do for food. Kane reminded Nick of all the stuff he had stolen from that gas station and he quickly went back out to the stolen car and made some trips to bring everything that he had gotten from that gas station inside the warehouse.
Half of that stuff was food like peanuts, chocolate bars, licorice, microwaveable bean and cheese burritos, a box of cereal, frozen veggies pizzas, beer, soda, two cartons of orange juice, 15 bottles of water, cheese puffs, a box of crackers, canned soup and a tub of Neapolitan ice cream. None of this stuff would exactly make a good home-cooked meal, but for Nick Wilde and Kane, it was certainly better than starving!
Nick Wilde selected the bean and cheese burritos and since there was obviously no electricity or any microwaves to use to heat them, Kane had to help Nick out with that by making a fire for him to heat them up with. Kane even got Nick a chair for him to sit on next to the fire, so that way he would be more comfortable. Kane only did this because Nick Wilde wouldn't stop complaining about being hungry and he still had to take care of Nick Wilde because of The Watcher's orders and he was pretty sure The Watcher wouldn't be happy with him if he let Nick starve to death.
After Nick cooked his burritos with the fire and ate them, Kane then grabbed a bottle of beer and one of the frozen pizzas and also used the fire he had made to heat up his pizza before he ate it as he sat next to Nick Wilde in another chair. Those burritos that nick had eaten hadn't exactly filled him up completely, but at least now, his stomach wasn't growling anymore.
With nothing else to do, Nick Wilde then found himself staring at Kane Karter (who had turned off his DisguiseNow Band and was back to his normal human appearance) and like he had been before, Nick couldn't help but find the fact that he was in the presence of a new and unknown, intelligent species quite a lot to take in! Nick also wondered what kind of ramifications there would be if all of Zootopia, if not the entire world, ever learned about his existence!
