A couple days later in the flashback and outside the infirmary of the secret military and government base somewhere in America, Greg was standing outside of the infirmary, where all the subjects for the project were at. It had took a lot of work, but they had managed to find all of the subjects in all of that debris in the destroyed school area room.
The other scientists had been really confused and hesitant to do anything with the subjects, much less bother putting them in the infirmary due to all the severe injuries they had received and how unlikely it was that any of them could survive what they had went through, but when Greg Veil warned them that they were already on thin ice as it was for having not been more careful and staying close to the subjects in that room like they were supposed to, they didn't waste anytime and did as they were told. Ever since the subjects had been put into the infirmary, though, only the doctors and nurses and Danny Atoms himself had been allowed in and out of there, while Greg Veil and the other scientists had had to all wait outside.
Greg Veil and the other scientists had tried to ask Danny Atoms what was going on in there, but Danny Atoms wouldn't tell them anything and just brushed off their questions. They also tried asking doing the same with the doctors and nurses that had come in and out of there, but they refused as they had been ordered by Danny Atoms not to say anything about the matter with anyone else but Danny Atoms himself.
Greg Veil and the other scientists didn't know what to think of all this. Greg Veil was the most surprised out of all of them as he thought that as Danny's right hand scientist, Danny would be willing to tell him anything.
So, then what could possibly be happening in that infirmary that would cause whatever it was to be a secret even from from him? Greg Veil and the other scientists were all very curious and wanted answers, but they didn't want to get into any trouble with Danny, so right now, waiting was their only option.
Fortunately for them, they didn't have to wait much longer as the door to the infirmary opened up and Danny Atoms appeared in the doorway and called out for Greg Veil and some of the other scientists and told them to come in. The others, though, would have to wait even longer and come in later because there wasn't enough room for all of them to be in the infirmary at once.
Upon entering the infirmary, Greg Veil and the other scientists that had been invited in were led to the part of the infirmary where all the subjects were being kept at. However, there were curtains surrounding all of the beds that the subjects had been put on and Greg and the others couldn't see a thing as a result.
Facing Greg and the other scientists with him, Danny Atoms wore a serious expression on his face. "Greg. I'm sorry about having to keep you and the others in the dark, but there's a very good reason for that!" Danny Atoms apologized. "The reason for that regards the subjects, who have all survived the incident from the other day!"
Greg and the other scientists with him were shocked by this as it would be one thing for any of those kids to survive all that debris fall down on them, but it was a completely different thing for all of them to have done so! Before they could say anything, Danny stopped them.
"Listen. What I'm about to show you is something that you might have trouble believing, so try not to...Ahem! Make a scene when these curtains are removed!" Danny ordered. "Understand?"
