Alex' pov

I turn my head towards Jo. Did I hear that correct? Paul Stadler's sister...what was Jo thinking? Her ex's sister asks for help and she said yes. This woman standing in front of me, is family of that monster.

"I'm guessing by the look on your face, you knew my brother. Or at least knew of him." she says and gives me a rather cocky smile.

Why on earth does Jo want to help the monster's sister? After everything he put her through. He almost killed her for God's sake!

Jo's pov

I can see the wheels in his brain turning at 100 miles per hour. He had to know, him not knowing would've led to some very nasty fights.

"Okay, Alex were leaving." I say and grab his arm, pulling him out of the room. Turning my head I yell over my shoulder, "Bye, Anna."

Once we're out of the room Alex swings around to glare at me. I can tell he's confused and upset. I don't blame him, I would be too if I were in his situation.

"ANNABELLE STADLER?! PAUL'S SISTER?! Jo what the hell is wrong with you? Why would you bring them here?!

"Because that little girl shouldn't be held responsible for her uncle's actions. She is a kid who is sick and needs help. Are you really going to yell at me for doing what I think is right?!" I snarl at him.

For a second he just stares at me. Surprised by my retort he fumbles with the hem of his shirt, trying to think of a good reply.

Finally he says, "But Paul was a monster. I would've thought you'd want nothing to do with his family."

"Oh Alex, I hate him. I really do, but I'm not going to let an innocent little girl suffer because of it. You don't blame me for being the daughter of a rapist, do you?"

He looks me in the eyes and wispers softly, "No, I don't. Of course I don't. But you never knew him."

"That doesn't matter. I may not have known him but that's not the point. Anna's daughter is a child who deserves to have a normal life and I intend to give that to her."

Everything I say, I mean. Yes, I'm still mad at Anna for not sticking up for me against her brother but I don't think a child should suffer for her parent's mistakes. Once upon a time I thought different but not anymore.

"Fine, you madee your point. I get it."

..................................................................

We barly spoke to one another for the rest of the day. Brooklyn kept ALex busy and I hung out with Robin. I could tell by the way he would look at me that he wanted to talk but I shut him up with a glare.

Brooklyn wanted to watch a movie so naturally that's what ended up doing. Beauty and the beast. Again. She has been obsessed over it ever since Amelia bought her the live-action version. I swear, I can recite the entire movies dialogue.

The next morning is chaotic as always. Meredith cooks breakfast while Alex and I get the kids dressed and ready for school. Luckily Amelia didn't sleep over with mini Link.

"There, you're all ready! Go downstairs for breakfast, baby." I say to Brooklyn while I lean in to kiss her forehead.

"Okay mommy." she replies and hoppes down the stairs to the kitchen.

I turn my attention towards Alex who is looking at the pictures on Brooklyn's desk.

"What's this from?" he asks and points at the foto from the schooltrip to the hospital.

"That's from her schooltrip three months ago to Grey Sloan Memorial. Doctor Webber and I gave the kids a tour. They loved it! Brooklyn was going around and telling anyone that would listen that I'm her mom."

"That sounds adorable." He gives me a small smile.

"Yeah, it was." I smile back softly although my smile quickly fades as realisation hits me.

Oh shit. Not again. No, no, no, no, this can't be happening again.

"Alex....I-I'm late."

I don't know if I want Jo to have a third baby with Alex rn or not. :/

Sorry for this boring chapter.

Okay So I'm trying to figure out a name for Anna's daughter but nothing seems to fit. Feel free to leave suggestions!
