Daniels POV
Today was a great day. I celebrated Father's Day with my dad and family at the beach. (True fact the Seaveys celebrated Father's Day at the beach according to Christian seavey)
I was just now getting home because we stopped for dinner. I walked into the house seeing Lena sitting on the living room floor with papers and photos all around. She seemed to be reading something. "Hey baby what's all this?" I say walking over to her avoiding papers. "Letters from my dad and old photos." She mumbled as I sat down next to her kissing her temple. Lenas biological dad past away well he was murdered right in front of her by her own mother. Every year on Father's Day she goes to the graveyard and then to his old house that is now occupied by a family. I put my arms around her pulling her into a hug. "I miss him." She mumbles a could see the tears starting to fall. "Baby I know but he may be gone but he's still with you in spirit and he'll always be in your heart." I say kissing the top of her head. I looked at her watch and it read 10pm. "Hey you look tired let's go to bed." I say looking at her as she sets the paper invoer hands down and I wipe her tears away. "But I have to clean all this-" I cut her off by picking her up bridal style and caring her to our room in the back of our apartment. "Hey!" She says slightly laughing at my sudden take of action. "What?" I say setting her down on the bed. "I have to change." I say and she nods getting into the blankets. Since July 4th was coming it meant fireworks every fucking night. I lobe fireworks but Lena not so much she loves looking at them but she doesn't like hearing them. I don't know why maybe cause there loud but every firework she flinches or moves closer to me. I walk over to our dresser and dirty laundry basket taking off my shirt and placing it in there along with my jeans leaving me in boxers. I walk back to bed getting in next to Lena as she was typing on her phone. "Oh the light." I say getting up to turn it off and returning to bed. Lena turned off her phone and the only light was from the moon light and the fireworks outside. Lena came closer to me and sat in a straddling position on my waist then laid her head down on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her lower back as she dozed to sleep. Even though she was sleep ever firework she would hold me tighter or flinch in my arms. Then a loud booming firework exploded in the sky setting off a couple fire alarms. She shot her head up terrified getting off me and going to the bathroom. "Lena?" I say getting up. "Give me a sec she says her voice hoarse and trembling. She closed the door I laid back down. She came out looking a little scared. "Baby what's wrong?" I said sitting up paying the spot next to me. She slowly sat down leaning into me. "Baby can you talk to me about what's wrong?" I say moving the curls that fell from her bun out of her face. "Ok um so you know how my father was murdered." I nodded. "Well the fireworks all remind me of gun shots ever loud bang is gunshot to me." She said fiddling with the hem of her sweatshirt well my sweatshirt. "Oh baby." I said pulling her closer rubbing her back. Another loud firework boomed in the distance but this time I held her right and she didn't flinch. "Hey look you didn't flinch." I say leaning back to look at her. She smiled as she looked up at me. "Can you sing me to sleep?" She said cuddling into me in a comfy sleeping position. "Of course what song?" She thought about it. "Um can you sing hallelujah." She loved that song it always soothes her and she sang it when she was sad or mad or even just happy. "Of course."
I lay down to get comfy as well and clear my throat. "Now I heard there was a secret cord that David played and it pleased the lord but you don't really care for music do ya." I sang as she closed her eyes. "It goes like this the fourth the fifth the Minor fall and the major lift." I continue singing until she's in a deep sleep. She's so much to me I don't know what I'd do without her.
