Arabella's POV

Pain. Pure bone breaking pain was the only sensation I could feel at that moment. Every part of me felt like it was lit on fire. And as if someone had run a huge loaded lorry over me. But what was more painful is that the strong blinding light on my closed eyes. My poor eyelids couldn't even block the intense light from my eyes. I slowly opened my eyes not being able to tolerate the light anymore. I squinted at the intense light. My eyes hurt, feel like it was burning. I tried to call out for help to stop the intense light but the only sound that came out was like of a cat that was getting strangled.

"Ella, baby." A familiar female voice called out. It was my mother.

"M-M-Mo-om..." I called out, my voice sounding dry and groggy. My throat burned as if someone was rubbing sandpaper on the delicate flesh.

"Ella sweetie you're finally awake!" my mom cried out holding my hand. This time I steadily opened my eyes to find my mom sitting beside my bed with her hand clasped around my weak cannula punctured hand. Two long IV tube was attached to cannula, one had dark black liquid, blood; and the other had clear liquid, saline. An oxygen mask was covering half of my face, helping me to breathe properly

"W-Water." I chocked out. My mom let go of my hand and helped me up from my laying position. I winched in the pain and groaned out. She helped me out of the oxygen mask. At first it felt like someone had hold a thick fabric on my nose not making me breathe in properly, but the feeling subsided quickly making me breathe in properly again. My mom grabbed the glass off the side steel table and brought it toward my lips. She held the cool glass against them as I chugged down the water feeling my life depends on it. After I finished she put back the glass on the table. I tried to wipe my mouth with my hand but I couldn't cause of the many IV attached to my hand, my mom noticed that and wiped my mouth with a handkerchief. I took my time to notice the changes in my mother. She had bags under her eyes, her blue eyes dull. She turned pale by many shades. She even got skinnier.

"Mom." I called out, my voice raspy. "What happened?"

"Ella, baby we need to call the doctor first." My mom said touching the side of my forehead making me winch. I hurt my head pretty hard. In the cue two people entered the hospital room. One was my dad and another was my sister, Marissa. Their eyes widened looking at me and the next thing I know Marissa tried to throw her at me, for a hug obviously, but our dad stopped her.

"You are awake." She said tears beaming in her eyes. She was feeling guilt, her eyes showed them. Dad let her go and both of them came toward me. Dad sat on the small chair mom was seating a few minutes ago and Marissa went out to call the doctor. Same as mom dad also had bag under his eyes and looked extremely pale. He caught my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Soon the doctor came in with Marissa behind her.

"Good Morning miss Heatherway, glad you are finally awake." She said looking at the chart in her hand.

"I need to check on her vitals. Ma'am and sir it will be great if every one of you would kindly leave the room." The doctor said.

"Of course doctor." Mom said ushering dad outside.

"Well be waiting outside cupcake, alright?" my dad said kissing my forehead. I nodded at him and he sighed. When they left I turned back to my doctor and found her smiling at me, a very genuine smile.

"I'm Doctor Ramirez. So shall we begin?" the doctor asked closing the door. I nodded toward her, indicating her to precede her examination on me.

The doctor took one complete hour to examine me and run some tests on me. She also told me what happened exactly after I had the accident. Police found out about the accident as a local resident of that part of the city saw that accident to happen and called the police. Later the police called Alexander and my family to inform them. Speaking of Alexander where is he?
