Arabella's POV
"We should tell her mother Ali." I said to Alison over the phone. Yes I was plotting a perfect birthday suprise for Lilly, with Alison while the boys are going to arrange it for us.
" Yeah we can do that." she said with a sigh. She is hell tired I can even feel that.
" Ali, text me her number. I'll talk to her." I said softly.
"Really? I mean your sister is coming and she will arrive anytime now." she asked me.
" Yes. My sister makes the best birthday plans. She can help me, us with this." I said encouraging her. Then I saw the red tiny light on the landline flashing indicating a incoming call from the reception.
" I've to go. Text me the number." I said before disconnecting the call. I went up to the telephone and answered the call in speaker.
"Yes?" I asked.
" Someone named Marissa-" she was immediately cut off.
" Wait I'm coming!" I exclaimed before dashing out of my apartment. I pressed the button on the side panel to call the elevator many times, feeling the tiny butterflies in my stomach in giddiness for the arrival of my sister. Soon I was in the elevator descending to the ground floor where the reception desk was. The elevator door opened giving the vast image of the foyer of this building. And there was my sister standing in front of the reception desk with her luggage in her hand.
"Sister!" I exclaimed running toward her and crashing her in my embrace. She immediately took a step back with me in her arms to balance her body. She laughed out loud at my excitement and hugged me back. Someone cleared their throat, breaking our sister bubble. The receptionist was smiling at us. I let my sister go.
"Ma'am you didn't have to arrive downstairs for your guest." The receptionist said.
"Oh no no she is my sister and she will be living with me." I said gesturing my hand in the air.
"Of course ma'am. Please take her luggage." she said nodding toward a staff. I wasted no time to grab my sister's hand drag her toward the elevator. My phone vibrated in my sweatpants pocket. I pulled it out to find Alison texted me the number.
"How was your flight?" I asked putting my phone back.
"As usual." she shrugged her shoulder and immediately groaned. " Ahh. Jet lag."
"You need a hot bath." I said her rubbing her shoulder.
"I do." she groaned out closing her eyes.
"Need some bath bombs?" rubbing the knots in her neck with slight pressure.
"No just salt will work." she opened her eyes. The elevator door opened and I went out before.
"Thank you!" I said to the staff who nodded toward me in return before going in my house.
I immediately went to my bathroom to fetch the salt packet and some fluffy towels. I came out of my bedroom to find Marissa dragging her luggage inside.
"No you don't need to drag this now. Go and take a bath. In the mean time I'll order take out. What will you have?" I said snatching the luggage out of her hands. I pulled the trolley with me inside the guest room.
"Chinese works?" she asked following me inside.
"Perfectly. Here is your towel and salt." I said handing her her towels and salt. She went inside the bath room after dropping a kiss on my cheeks.
'In the meantime I need to make some calls.' I thought to myself. I went inside the kitchen I dialed the very number which Alison texted me.
" Mrs. Woods?" I smriked.
***
After thirty minutes of bath my sister emerged from my guest room wearing a pair of yoga pants and grey sweater. Her damp hair was wrapped up by a towel. She advanced toward me where I was sitted in one of the bar stool in the kitchen island, munching on my cookies.
"Don't you think this will seize your appetite?" she said frowning at my cookies. She took one in her hand put in her mouth.
"What to do?" I said shrugging, "I'm really hungry. I can't wait ten more minutes." I finished pouting. She laughed at me before leaning on the island by her hip. Her attention shifted to the papers scattered on the surface.
"What's this? " she said picking up a paper.
"Birthday party." I said nodding toward the paper in her hand. She looked back at me with one of her eyebrow raised in question.
"Suprise one." I clarified. Lying on her face is practically impossible.
"Whose?" she said dusting off her hand after placing back the paper on the table.
"Lillian Woods. A good friend of mine and work colleague." I said waving in the air with my cookie in my hand.
"Okay." she said with a slight tilt in her head.
"Help me out please."I said stretching the 'please' with my best puppy face. She rolled her eyes at me and I pout out my lips more trying to convince her.
"What are you going to do?" she said shaking her head with a smile. I grinned at her before the door bell rang for our take out.
" Let's discuss over dinner." I said getting up.
