“Fifth wheeling sucks.” Bob complained as Frank let out another giggle, cuddled up close to Gerard.

“Agreed.” I rolled my eyes at the two, repositioning my glasses just so my hands were occupied instead of being at my side.

“I’m gonna go watch a movie, wanna come?” Ray asked hopefully toward mine and Bob’s way, standing up.

“I-“

“We’ll come.” Gerard smiled, grabbing Frank’s hand and leading him out.

“Oh, great.” Ray mumbled following them with a fake smile.

“So,” Bob started uncomfortably, shuffling in his seat, “poor Ray, huh?”

“Yeah.” I laughed in agreement twisting my hands together.

“Why does this feel so awkward?” Bob muttered under his breath. I pretended I couldn’t hear him; it could have made him feel a lot more awkward and vulnerable with it.

“So…” I stretched.

“Yeah?” Bob replied.

“Any girls on the scene?” I questioned, still with my hands together. Sort of silly of me to ask really, there’s usually a new one each week.

“No, there’s been no one since that bar maid a couple of weeks ago”

“W-What?!” my jaw dropped, “Seriously?”

“Yeah,” he replied, embarrassed looking. “I’ve sort of had someone else on my mind.”

“Ah,” I replied, “Who’s the lucky girl then?”

“Well…”

“Come on!” I giggled hitting him playfully in the stomach.

“It’s not a girl, okay?” he hushed. I think I know where this was leading, therefore I started blushing violently. “What’s got you blushing?” he asked.

“You.” I replied again, pausing then starting again, “How can you be so timid? You’re usually really outgoing”

“It’s your entire fault!” he too, was now blushing as violently as I was.

“How?” I asked, still blushing, as violently as ever.

“You’re the one that’s been on my mind.” He answered grabbing his elbow awkwardly.

I seriously didn’t know how to react. I, well, I was certainly shocked. I mean, yes he’d been on my mind too, but me on his? (omg me on his isn’t dirty at all!) Anyway, I’m gonna have to say something; else he’ll think something is wrong.

“Wow, really?” I frantically pushed out.

“Yes, oh god, I’ve fucked this up haven’t i?”

“No… No. To be honest I was sort of feeling, well, thinking the same way.”

Both blushing still, we stood there while an awkward silence lingered over us. Then Bob leaned in closer to me, so I did the same. We edged closer and closer until we were virtually nose-to-nose. Ten at that point Ray came barging in, for fuck sake. Bob turned to the opposite side of the room and giggled, “See, I told you so!” I had no idea what he was going on about.

“Are you two coming to watch the movie? Everything is ready, popcorn and everything!” Ray shouted over.

“Yeah we’ll be in soon!” I shouted back.

“Alright-y then!” He shouted, again as he walked back to the living area of the van.

“What was that about?” I asked when Ray was gone.

“I thought it’d be the right time to go in fo-“

“Not that!” I blushed, “The whole ‘see, I told you’?”

“well don’t want Ray finding out about this do we?”

“No.”

“Tell you what…”

“What?”

“I’ll make you a deal; no one finds out about this but it still happens?”

“Yes.”

“Let’s go watch this movie then!”

“Let’s do it!” My heart was racing.
