MARINETTE'S POV

Marinette had just gotten to her dormitory, still thoroughly embarrassed about the whole dropping of the big red book. It was a very odd book to Marinette and she still had no idea why she was so drawn to that book but the thought was pushed out of her head when she heard a sleight tapping.

Marinette turned to look around at the other girls in the dormitory but all of them were getting dressed for bed.

"Hey Alya did you heard a tapping noise?" Marinette looked over to Alya whose bed was right next to her.

"No I don't think so why?" Alya said while folding some clothes and putting them in her dresser.

"Nevermind just thought I heard something." Marinette turned back to her trunk and started to rummage though it when she heard it again. Only this time it was a knock, it was more like someone was clearing their throat.

The noise was coming from in front of her so it couldn't have been one of the girls. Marinette lifted her head up and looked straight ahead. Infront of her was her bed, dresser, a small window and in front of the window sat her owl. Her small red owl. 'She has to be the one making the sound' thought Marinette 'but that would be crazy, that would mean I am crazy' at this thought Marinette decided to ignore her owl.

She turned back to unpack and getting ready for bed, the whole time ignoring any noise coming from that area.

After everyone was done packing and was done chatting about the school, the girls went to bed. Well Marinette tried to go to bed but the Constant sound of tapping started to drive her crazy. Especially when it kept getting louder and louder. Finally Marinette had, had enough.

She quietly jumped out of her bed and open her owls cage and the owl fluttered out of the cage and landed on her shoulder. Marinette looked at her owl and the owl looked back with a look on its face saying something along the lines of 'FINALLY'. Marinette looked straight ahead and then over to the door and opened it as silently as she could.

Marinette made her way down the stairs but she began to hear foot steps. She began to hurry down the steps because she thought someone had heard her coming out of her dorm and was trying to catch up to her. Once she saw the door to the common room she began to hurry down the steps. She opened the door and there stood a dark figure right in front of her.

"Adrian!" Marinette half yelled half whispered.

"Marinette?" It was definitely Adrian Marinette thought.

"Um yeah, I-it's me." Marinette said cautiously. She looked down at Adrian, who was now moving closer to her that she could now see his face. His green eyes practically glowed in the dark.

"Why are you going to the common room?" Adrian turned his head to the side looking at Marinette like her was trying to see inside her mind.

"I-I um..I decided I wanted to bring that book up to my room for some light reading before bed."Marinette hoped that she didn't look like a total idiot. Adrian paused for a second and Marinette thought that she totally blew he cover. Then he bursted out laugh.

"Light reading. Merlins beard Marinette, of that's what you call light reading I am scared for what you call regular reading." He kept on laughing and Marinette laughed with him.

"Well I guess I just really like reading." Marinette gave a weak shrug.'At least that wasn't a lie' Marinette thought. "I should probably grabbed the book before one of the perfects come checks the common room."

"Oh yeah, that would be a good idea. Well I guess goodnight then." Adrian headed for the boys dormitories.

"Yeah Goodnight" Marinette waved to him and he turned around and smiled at him. 'I still don't see why Alya doesn't like him. He's not that bad, not that bad at all.' Marinette thought while walking into the dormitory.

"Okay, is that what you wanted. To get out of your cage." Marinette said while setting her owl down on the top of the couch. She wasn't really expecting her to talk back but boy was she wrong.

"Not exactly." Marinette jumped half way off of the ground at the small squeaky voice that came from her owl. "I wanted you to talk he out here so we could talk." Her owl said like it was no big.

"You wanted to talk to me, talk—to—me?" Marinette was now in disbelief. When she said she was crazy before she was just joking but now she knows she is.

"Yes Marinette I wanted to talk to you."

"H-how do you know my name." Marinette backed up a little.

"Well I heard you name on the train but that doesn't matter because I have known your name for thousands of years."

"Thousands of years." Marinette's mouth hung open.

"Yes, You have always been destined to be the Guardian of the Wands."Marinette again stood there is disbelief, she didn't say anything. So her owl went on. "The Guardians of the Wands is a secret order that protects the wizarding word from evil." Marinette's owl pause to see if Marinette would ask something but Marinette just kept her mouth shut. She just stood there and let her owl talk.

"The order was created by a very powerful Witch and a Wizard. The two decided that the magic world was not safe in the hands of the ministry or back then the first Monarchy. So to keep both the wizarding world safe and the muggle world they founded the order." Again Marinettes owl paused but Marinette had no questions. "The founders knew that this order had to continue once they passed. So the created Kwamis or spirit guides. I am one of them. My original own created me to help the owners of the wands find their way." Marinette's owl gave her a look of empathy. Marinette looked at her for a second trying to soak in all the information.

"I am sorry but you have the wrong person. I am not even from this world. I am a what ever you call a normal person. I am truly sorry but you must have the wrong Marinette." Marinette started to pace about the room.

"No Marinette I do not have the wrong person. This is your destiny and it has been for thousands of years."

"I don't have a destiny. The future can not be set In stone there is no way. Science doesn't work that way." Marinette's voice didn't sound like her own. It was like she was lying to herself.

"Marinette, you know it's not true. Deep down you can feel it."

"It can't be me." Marinette whispered to herself. Then Marinette stood there for a second. She knew that her owl, as crazy as it seemed, was telling the true. She could feel it in her gut. "I believe you but I want to know everything and can we start with your name because I feel bad thinking of you as a red flying puff ball." It seemed almost as though her owl smile, since owls can't really smile.

"My name is Tikki." And for the rest of the night Marinette and Tikki stayed up talking.
