s: sanpdragon for an unpleasant desire
𑁍

it's been going on like that for almost two weeks now. kihyun suddenly started having this dream, again and again. every night it was the same one, only the smallest of details changing. one of them was the song that played in his earphones.

that boy, kihyun didn't know him. god, he didn't even know if that person actually existed in real life. he had no memory of ever seeing him before. it was weird. he had no idea who it was or why he would appear in his dreams like that. kihyun was sure that he had never met him before, but there was some kind of familiar feeling towards the boy too. an emotion, almost. like they are somewhat connected? like they have known each other for a long time, but also not?
there was something, but he couldn't explain what exactly. you shouldn't even bother asking, because kihyun himself had no clue why he was feeling like that. why it was happening at all. all he did know was that this boy caused him to lose a lot of sleep because kihyun wasn't really one to ever sleep during the day and during the night if the brown haired actually did fall asleep for once, he dreamed about him. surely, he wanted to figure out what the hell was happening to him, but at this point is started becoming somewhat annoying. all his life, he has been having weird and more unusual dreams than anyone else, but this was a whole other level and he hated it. especially because of what he kept seeing in this very dream, a young boy being in so much pain and the way he keeps walking to the bridge to most likely jump, what kind of dream was that? and kihyun feeling this strange kind of 'connection' to some boy he had never seen before, a boy in his dreams to be exact, was something everyone else would title as crazy. so he never told anyone either. like he had anybody at all.

the brown haired tried ignoring the events happening and he tried to forget about it but he just couldn't. the boy was a complete stranger, he was, at least to kihyun. he though, seemed to know exactly who kihyun was. not only because he's calling out his name at the end of each dream, but you could also see it in his eyes. somehow. he seemed so desperate for kihyun to come for him, for kihyun to save him.

it did seem like if it was for anyone else, nothing could change his mind. as if, if it was someone else coming to save him, it just wouldn't matter.

how did he know his name?
why would kihyun be the decent one to save him?
why was he so seemingly drawn to the brown haired?
or did he even exist for real? was he out there?
was he suffering?
and why wouldn't kihyun know who he was?
but then again, why would he dream of some complete stranger? someone he had never met before? nothing added up.

too many unanswered questions and kihyun was about to go crazy by now, not yet having found any answers or clues as to what was happening to him. and he hated this feeling of uncertainty. he hated not having the control over what was going on in his life right now. throughout the whole last week, he started noting everything down. anything he could remember, what by the way also was way too detailed. usually people forget their dreams, right? if they do remember their dream very detailed, just like it happened during the night, then it must've been something that is really drawn to them in a way. like something that somehow meant a lot to them personally or something that affected the person on a deep emotional level. if not that, they may only remember specific parts right after they woke up. and if that was the case, if they weren't writing it down, like you would do in case you keep a dream diary, they would forget all about it sooner or later. but for kihyun, it was different.
he never forgot the slightest detail. even if some things in the dream slightly changed. he remembered everything. and with everything, he meant literally everything.

kihyun remembered the weather. whenever it was snowing, whenever it was raining or whenever it was a dry summer night with nothing but a cool breeze in the air. the way the raindrops and the snowflakes fell down and hit the ground. how the snowflakes were slowly gliding to the ground, creating a thin white layer that covered the street and the exact footprints the boy had left behind after walking through the snow. he remembered. kihyun remembered the way the rain wet the earlier fallen petals back on the street and he remembered seeing the boy's hair dripping from all the rainwater one time.

the petals were another very detailed memory. these white, tulip shaped petals that left behind such a visible trail. he tried to figure out a pattern or to find any kind of hints as to why it was happening just like it did, but there was nothing to be found.

and kihyun even started looking up the meaning of specific flowers, which colors there were and he also tried predicting which one would eventually come next.
but did it help? no. it was always the same white flower petals, so at one point he stopped going after it. it sounds kind of crazy, doesn't it? but the fact that he had no idea what was going on with him and who that boy was, it bothered him so much and he needed to find it out.
based on the fact that he kept dreaming of this boy at all, he tried everything he could to somehow regain any kind of memory he may have lost. maybe he did know him, but kihyun just couldn't remember?
he decided to look through old photo albums too, just to make sure, but all his childhood 'remains' were at his parent's house in goyang-si and going back there, to his hometown, wasn't really that much of an option anyway.
