h: hyacinth for constancy
𑁍it goes on for another week. kihyun slowly couldn't bear it anymore, seeing this boy on the other side of the railing, limply holding on for his life. literally. the constant fear and panic building up inside of him, when he saw the scene playing in front of his eyes, not being able to do anything but watch it over and over again. it was getting too much for him, seeing the will to live being sucked out of the boy more and more. he got visibly weaker, his smile seemed to be getting so heavy to keep on his lips and to kihyun, it felt like he was using all his leftover strength just to seem okay. but why? for whom? he was always alone. there was never anyone else around. no people, no cars and he surely didn't look like he had any family or friends waiting for him at home. it was almost like he knew that someone was watching him, someone who cared about him and someone he cared about. and from this very person, he tried to hide his pain. for this person alone, he tried to be strong.
it's almost been three weeks now since it first started and kihyun still had no clue how the boy could even know his name. why he was calling out for kihyun's help, why it seemed like kihyun was the only one who could save him and it was tearing him apart. both, the boy and kihyun himself. the brown haired wanted to help him, so, so bad, but the fact that he couldn't do anything but observe how the boy was slowly breaking apart, being so close to take his own life.. kihyun couldn't stand it much longer. and that's why things finally had to change. for the boy's and for his own sake.
over the past few nights, more things have been changing. the weather was starting to fall out of pattern. it started getting stormy. the rain got heavier, the amount of snow falling increased and the cold winter breeze turned into a strong wind. the boy kept listening to music, but all the songs have been playing chaotically. none of them coming to it's end before the next song played, the volume changing, becoming louder uncontrollably. and not only the petals themselves had changed, but the same happened with the amount of flower petals falling. it has increased drastically in comparison to the time when kihyun first started having this very dream. some even fell to the ground already dead, just like that one petal he had picked up the other day. and it was truly scaring kihyun. the way this dream kept turning more and more into a nightmare, it was getting too much.
whenever the boy arrived at the bridge, that was always the moment kihyun felt his body tense even in his sleep.
the boy himself didn't seem to care at all anymore. he climbed over the railing less carefully. one time it was raining and he almost slipped. but with that being a terror for anyone else possibly watching, the boy couldn't care less that he almost actually fell off that night. and that's not the only thing. his crying got worse, as well as the coughing did. ever since the day the brown haired went out and found that petal on the street, everything started escalating.kihyun only ever went to the bridge one last time since then. and that day, he stood at the exact same spot the boy was always standing in his dream. he felt so uneasy being there. the memories came flooding his mind, staring down onto the strongly flowing water and the scene kept playing in front of his eyes. it felt a bit too real for kihyun's taste and that's why he couldn't stay there for a very long time. whenever he woke up in the morning, he wrote down all details, any kind of changes that may have occurred in his dream, but that didn't seem to help in finding out anything either. whether why he had this dream and neither about who that boy was in the first place. if he was even real. and yet, kihyun would not give up on it. he would not give up on him.
and that turned out to be the right decision, because the next night, not only small details, such as the weather or the music the boy was listening to, changed.
because suddenly, everything did.
