21 - Family

Jai's P.O.V

Lily closed her eyes as she held my arms, walking forward in the cafe. I quickly pulled her back as she almost stepped on one of the many dead bodies laying all around. "Watch out." I uttered leading her out into the streets.

"Jai I'm scared to open my eyes." she whimpered as we slowly walked down the sidewalk, avoiding as many bodies as we could. "Get on my back." I laughed, getting infront of her and bending down to allow her to jump and wrap her legs around my waist.

The trip to my house was silent. I had thoughts running through my mind, what was I going to say to my mother and Beau? Should I tell them that it's Luke's counselor or should I just tell them she's a friend? Either way, it's bad.

If I tell them that she's Luke's counselor, they would not want her in the house, for her own safety. Knowing that Luke can escape the institution and stuff. If I tell them that she's a friend, they will think that she's my girlfriend and they don't like the idea of a fast relationship, especially letting her sleep in our house.

After a while of walking, Lily's head was resting on my shoulder. "Are you still awake?" I chuckled, walking up the driveway. She just hummed in response. "Okay I'm going to have to drop you."  gently placed her onto her feet.

Reaching my hand out, I cautiously opened the front door to my home. The lights were on and there was talking heard from the kitchen. "Okay right this way." I took Lily's hand. I could see she was nervous. Everyone has that feeling, going to someone else's house for the first time.

"It's okay." I smiled back at her, she faintly returning the gesture. Walking into the kitchen, my mother, her name is Gina, immediately ran up to both of us. Being kind of startled by this action, Lily semi-hid behind me. "Are you two okay?!" she worriedly checked my face for wounds. "M-Mum, this is Lily." I awkwardly laughed.

"I saw on the news that.. that Luke was killing people around the cafe you work at." Gina spoke softly. She looked over to Lily and smiled. "You're safe here."

"Okay mum" I took Lily's arm. "I will let her get ready for bed." I tried to get her out of the kitchen. "Oh but what about your brother?" Lily stood still. I looked over to Beau and he looked up but he didn't look too happy.

He stood up from leaning against the counter and walked towards Lily. I let go of her, allowin Beau to hug her, a bit longer than what I'm comfortable with. After he pulled away, they exchanged smiles. "Time for bed." I took Lily's hand again.

"What's the rush?" she laughed as I dragged her down the hallway and into the spare bedroom. Shutting the door behind me, Lily was already sitting on the edge of the bed. "What are you doing?" She asked as I walked towards her.

"Do you feel anything for me?" I looked her in the eyes.

Lily P.O.V

I didn't know what to say. We did share a kiss back there, in the cafe. But that was only because he leaned in and we thought for sure we were going to die. "I guess." I smiled. "Me too." Jai also smiled. "Luke may never find out or even have a clue about this." Jai placed his hand on my leg.

I just nodded, standing up from the double bed I was sitting on. "I like your mother and your brother." I smiled, feeling stupid because I didn't know their names. I know Luke already told me the other brother's name but honestly, I forgot.

"Oh right sorry. My mom is Gina and Beau is my older brother." Jai stood up as well. "So um.." I looked down to the ground, obviously finding it more interesting than what is going on around me. "You can shower if you want." Jai spoke, making me lift my head. "I'm okay, I will wait until morning and shower back at home."

Remembering that Madison is dead, formed a lump in throat knowing I will be living alone from now on. "Madison." I gasped, looking down again, my eyes brimming with water. Suddenly, Jai wrapped his arms around me tightly. "I'm sorry." he whispered. "It's okay. I'm okay." I sniffed, pulling away from Jai's grip.

"You want me to sleep in here with you?" he asked, concernly looking into my eyes. "Won't your mum think it's.. weird?" I spoke softly. "No." he smiled. I didn't want to sound desperate but I also didn't want to sleep alone.

"Sure." I climbed into the bed, Jai doing the same. "You're not going to put pjs on?" I whispered. "I'm fine." he whispered. I was a little nervous. I mean just sleeping in the same bed with a guy I kinda like is somewhat nerve wrecking, isn't it?

With a big yawn, I felt my eyelids growing heavier and heavier. Before dozing off, I felt Jai's arm over my side, pulling more covers onto me. He quickly pulled his arm away, leaving me snuggled up under the blankets.

"Goodnight Lily." Jai uttered. I didn't reply as I was too tired to. Suddenly I felt his lips on my cheek and then feeling movement around in the covers. I left it and went to sleep.

The next morning Jai and I were awaken by a knock at the bedroom door."Mum, what!?" Jai groaned into his pillow. The knocking stopped, startling both Jai and I. Jai stood up and opened the door, leaving the room and coming back after a little while.

"Everyone is asleep. What the fuck." Jai flopped back onto the bed, looking down at the floor. "I was awake when you kissed my cheek last night." I confessed, blushing. Jai didn't answer. "Jai?"

He turned his head to, looking like he saw a ghost. "I-I didn't kiss your cheek last night." He stuttered.

I know I say this all the time but I will try to be better at updating, it's just I had some family problems!
