Few seconds later and the air was blowing through his hair as he rose above the clouds. Rin hovered above the clouds trying to fathom what just happened. He looked behind him. They were there... His wings where there. But yet he wasn't dead, he hadn't hit the ground meaning... This was real. Rin smiled brightly as he realized he finally had everything he ever needed but then again Shiro was dead. All of this was running through his head at this moment until he realized Yukio and Astaroth were still on top of the old boys' dormitory. Rin waisted no time a glided down to the roof. Once he broke through the clouds he saw Astaroth moving towards Yukio who was too dysfunctioned in the mind to know what to do. Everything was happening too fast for him he had no sense at that moment. Rin turned as he was going to land, he kicked Astaroth so he hit the wall of the roof to go downstairs and then quickly went to Yukio and hugged him and reassured him it was alright. Yukio wide-eyed and shocked hugged his brother lightly still trying to figure everything out. "Shhh, I promise I'm not leaving." Rin soothed his brother. Yukio eventually hugged tighter and rested his face in the on Rin's shoulder and cried. "It'll be okay." Rin soothed, in a way this was a resting moment for him as well to think about everything. The fact his dad was now dead, he had his wings back, and Yukio was having a mental breakdown. Yukio had watched all this happen and he felt that it was partly his fault that Shiro couldn't be saved.
"I promise you it wasn't your fault, so please don't blame yourself." Rin stroked Yukio's hair but soon let go when he heard Astaroth coming close. Rin turned them and then let go of Yukio and punched Astaroth in the face and sent him back a bit. Astaroth growled and Rin looked over to where his sword lay. Yukio followed Rin's gaze and stared for a moment before sprinting to the sword. Rin turned back to look at Astaroth too slowly and was punched in the face. He flew and rolled on the floor but turned and landed in a kneeling position and fist on the ground before sprinting up to Astaroth and raised his fist. Rin went for a punch and which Astaroth blocked. And so Rin started a round of punches in which Astaroth blocked or dodged. "RIN!" Rin turned quickly to see Yukio throw his sword. Astaroth saw this and moved for the sword as well. Rin ran to the sword spun around while tripping Astaroh in the process and grabbed the sword and then unsheathed it. He looked down at Astaroth with glee and Astaroth growled. Rin ran forward with the flaming sword and put his training to the test.
Rin swung the sword and coordinated his moves to fight Astaroth well. Rin picked up speed and the demon king started to struggle to keep up with the young demon. "NO! YOU DON'T GET TO WIN!" Astaroth shouted and ran at Rin to send a big blow. Rin got ready as he knew what was coming, after all, he'd been victim to one before. Rin lifted his wings and put them in front of him to protect him. Astaroth went to punch but was sent flying when Rin opened his wings full force sending a massive blow to the demon king. Astaroth groaned and got up slowly. Rin ran straight at Astaroth and slashed him before stabbing him. "Get out that body," Rin growled under his breath and let his aura out and Astaroth gulped before nodding and the body went limp.
Rin sighed, tired, and then looked over to his brother who ran at him and hugged him. "Thank god you're okay! I thought Astaroth was going to kill you!" Yukio freaked out and hugged his brother tightly. Rin smiled sadly and hugged back. "Ha, like a low-life demon king could kill me," Rin said unenthusiastically. Yukio pulled back and looked at Rin who looked hurt. "Dad..." Was all Rin said and Yukio looked down sadly knowing their father was now dead. "Come on, we shoulder meet up with the others." Rin nods and he sheathes his sword and walks with his brother.
When they got down they saw the last of the demons being exorcised to Gehenna. "YUKI! RIN!" Shiemi shouted as she ran with the other exorcists in training behind her. "Oh hello, Miss Moriyama." Yukio greeted not with a smile though. "Wheres Shiro?" She asked the twins looked away awkwardly and Shiemi got the message. "I'm so sorry!" She said taking a bow. "It'ds not your fault I just didn't sa-" "It wasn't your fault either," Rin said a little pissed off. Yukio looked at him a little shocked but his expression returned to normal and turned back to the esquires. "We all should head to find anyone who needs help and assist them," Yukio tells them and they nod and walk off in some in their respective friend groups.
"Come on, we should help as well," Yukio tells his brother and Rin nods and they head off.
