Chapter 41 : Meet and greet

Ashi:

The red light went green as I dropped the call made by the Oli. She informed me that the hotel was cleared while they check if the kids held there where okay. Soon after, she told me that they would bring them back to their abode.

“Ate Ashi.”

“Ate Ashi!”

Napamulagta nalang ako at lumingon kay Avery who looks at me with starry eyes. Kanina pa pala niya ako tinatawag hehehe sorry naman lutang lang.

“Yes baby?” I asked looking at her tilting my head before smiling.

“As I said po earlier, my name is Avery Ley Marquez Collins!” She said proudly before smiling with a toothy grin.

Oh, Avery Ley Marquez Collins. Huh, Avery Ley... Marquez? Collins?! Wait! What?! Collins? Marquez?

Nanlaki ang mata ko when her words echoed in my head. COLLINS??! Kaano ano niya sina Vier at Vieny? Maybe same surname lang sila huwag kang oa Ashi

“Avery my kilala kabang Vier at Xavier Collins?” I asked trying to calm my nerves bago lumiko sa next street.

“Yes po! Hehe kapatid ko po sila hihi.” She giggled while I looked at her again. Kanina nakaupo siya ng ayos, ngayon she was hugging her knees habang tinatakpan ang bibig.

Omg so cute! My brain squealed. I bit my lip before reaching for her hair. Ginulo ko ito while she protested and try to remove my hand.

“Ate Ashi naman!” She pouted while I chuckled at her cuteness.

“Avery, alam mo ba kung saan ang bahay niyo?”  Tanong ko sa kaniya.

Her pouty face when I ruined her hair were gone. It was now replaced by a cute grin before she nodded.

“Yes ate! Doon po sa Vain Village.” She said smiling while I nodded my head.

I should have expected na sa village na iyon sila nakatira. Vain Village is one of the prestige villages here. Most people living there are rich and have a status. To add to that, ilang kanto lang ang layo nito sa Xenon Village.

If Vain Village was prestige and high class. On the other hand, Xenon Village is a place I built for the kids who has no place to stay. Ang lugar kung saan ko inaalagaan ang mga bata na inaampon ko as well as the other mafias and organization under my care.

The car went silent for a minute. The only thing we can hear is the engine of my car and Avery's humming.

“Avery, ilan taon kana?” tanong ko sa kanya to break our silence.

“I'm 7 years old po!” She said holding up her hands, showing me seven fingers with a wide smile on her lips.

“Ang cute cute mo naman!” I squeled before pinching her cheeks.

Her smiled faltered a little before whining.

“Ate my cheeks huhuhu” She said whining while I laughed before focusing again on driving.

“Ate kambal po ba tayo?” tanong nya bigla na nagpataas ng kilay ko before giggling.

“Huh? Bakit mo naman naisip iyan baby?”

“Kasi po parehas tayong cute.” sabi nya kaya napatawa ako before it turned to giggles.

“Ih, edi kambal nga tayo!” I giggled while she hummed in approval.

Minutes passed by when I saw a huge gold gate with green rubies designed to make it look like vains that hugged the gold gate. On top of the gate, “Vain Village” was shown.
