They went in through the gate but as soon as they entered, Hermione genuinely didn't know where to bring Malfoy. So she stopped. Although the Slytherin dormitories would've been the obvious choice, who knows if Pansy-fucking-pscho-Parkinson was still up. Maybe in front of the dungeons door, or in the common room waiting for him to magically return.
Draco eyed her and studied her blank expression. She noticed him staring and snapped
"What?"
"Why did you stop?"
He demanded perhaps with a gentler tone than he should've
"I could ask you the same"
The boy's eyebrows shot up, but she didn't even flinch. She had meant every single freaking word
"I don't know where to bring you, simple as that"
She brought him closer to the wall so that he could lean on that instead than on her
"I obviously don't want to bring you in your dormitory or common room and if I bring you in mine no one is going to be ok with it as I mean, you know... You're not very, ehm, 'popular' in Gryffindor house"
He nodded, seemingly understanding,
She had just begun to rationally think about their possibilities when a door appeared just in front of them
Yes!
"THE ROOM OF REQUIREMENT!"
They exclaimed together in the same moment. The girl helped the Slytherin walk and blushed more than she should've when his hand took hers.
Hermione observed the room was made as a dormitory. The only difference? There was only a single double-place bed and many, many mistletoes on the walls.
The girl helped Draco lay on the bed and debated preparing him a tea with magic. There was an uncomfortable silence while she was transfiguring some flowers in water.
"Thank you"
He said when she handed him the drink. She smiled at him while he drank and then sat on the edge of the bed. She sighed, wishing she could control the way she felt about the blonde.
It was late, she had to get going
"See you tomorrow, Draco"
Whispered the Gryffindor
He couldn't resist his urge. Malfoy grabbed her hand and kissed it, without unlocking his fingers from hers. She stared at the action for a second too long before forcing her smile to disappear and withdrawing her arm
"I-I can't do this anymore Draco"
She confessed at last
"You need to make a decision because.."
She was getting exasperated and had stood up, getting away from him. Her was voice now high-pitched. Tears were threatening to fall down the corner of her eyes
"B-because this is becoming a fucking twisted game and I don't want.."
She forced her cry down her throat. Took a deep breath
"If this is purely for your own amusement, I don't want to be a part of it"
The boy had the nerve to roll his eyes, his previous loving expression fading away
"Oh come on, now! You perfectly know it's no-"
"No Draco!"
She yelled, losing her cool.
She didn't know anything. She wasn't supposed to know anything. He didn't want her to know anything
So she had to act like she didn't know anything.
"I do not know"
Hermione answered at last. Leaving him alone without hesitation after remembering the boy's previous words
...
Draco was without words.
Malfoy slapped his palm against his face and was throwing insults at himself and his family. He loved Hermione, he was now pretty certain of that, but you know what he was even more certain about? The fact that he knew they could never stay together, or simply have a normal fucking relationship because of his father and his pure-blood obsession
Even though...
A dangerous thought entered his mind.
His father wasn't here. He had already kissed her, furthermore outside of Hogwarts where he could've been waiting if he wanted to. How was he going to know? Simple as that, he wouldn't.
Draco couldn't lose her.
He didn't want to.
...
Once in the dormitory, Granger thought about her crazy night with the blonde ferret and smiled thinking that she finally had kissed him.
~ oh my god I can't tell this to anyone ~
Then she remembered the rest of the night.
She started crying with her face pressed against the pillow.
