The boy hugged Hermione trying to protect her from the wand of his father, pointed in her direction. In front of his parents he had finally found the courage to keep the girl he loved safe, or at least he would have tried

He thought thinking about what to do next
"Just try to touch her and you will not only lose freedom..."
He esitated before continuing to talk. Draco took a deep breath and positioned himself right in front of the gryffindor, holding her hand"
"I've had enough. All of this years I lived for making my father proud of me, I lived learning all the false truths you told me, I lived trying to keep me and my mother out of all the mess you had created by joining the Dark Lord and I lived in the pain of not having chosen a single thing about my life. Well, guess what? Now I choose and if you don't do what I ask you to, you will lose even the only person who can make your family-line continue: me"
The slytherin said at last satisfied. Now he didn't need Lucius to be proud anymore of him because he believed in himself. Narcissa looked at him terrified to lose her son
"Draco, please be reasonable"
She screamed
"Mother, I swear that if he just tries to hurt Hermione I will kill myself"
Hermione had no words, she was too surprised by the boy's words, she had no choice but to trust the blonde and try and hide her fear of never seeing him again
"Granger, at the count of three I will cast the Reducto spell on my father, after he uses Protego petrify him.."
He whispered turning slightly around, to look in his beautiful girl's eyes.
"I love you, idiot! don't try to scare me in that way ever again"
He smirked and left her a quick kiss on the lips. Malfoy saw Hermione enjoyed seeing the disgusted face on his father's face
"1,2,3.. NOW GRANGER!"
He yelled just before casting the spell who with agility his father avoided, luckily without preventing the girl's one.
"Petrificus Totalus!"
Draco's girlfriend exclaimed.
In a second Lucius Malfoy had been petrified.
Narcissa, his wife, would have deeply in herself wanted to to go and help him but her goodwill told her not to.
He looked at Hermione, she looked at Draco and then they started running towards each other until their lips were finally reunited once again.
"I love you too"
He told her without any more air in his lungs, Malfoy would have wanted to reassure her but the gryffindor didn't let him say another word, she just wanted to spend that exact moment with him... without talking!
After a while, Draco joined his mum who was sitting next to the still body of Lucius with tears in her eyes.
Meanwhile Hermione had called the Ministry of magic with her wand and Lucius Malfoy was once again brought to Azkaban prison, this time for staying
Everything seemed to have been returned normal, but the year hadn't come to an end yet and Christmas was behind the corner...
