If you thought that Hyunjin was acting off-character the previous day, he was too in-character the succeeding day, acting completely fine, as though the conversation with his father never happened.

The following days were worse? Maybe they were actually better? You honestly didn't know.
You couldn't begin to describe the current situation you were in you but you could tell that something was up.

"Well, you've been pretty clingy the past days"
You muttered, finally voicing out your concerns as you stared at his left hand which was tightly wrapped around your wrist as you sat beside the prince who was currently taking notes with his free hand.

"Isn't he always like that?" Seungmin said with a chuckle. The man sat on a couch in one side of the room as he ate some snacks that were just brought in.

Then, Hyunjin mumbled something inaudible.

"I'm sorry, what was that?" You asked, leaning closer. You paused for a moment when the prince didn't move away or even flinch. When you two were younger, any time you would initiate close contact, there would always be initial shock from the prince before he would respond, but at the moment, it was as if he didn't care.

He simply repeated his earlier line in a louder voice.
"I'm in class and actually listening so leave me alone y/n"

"Are you listening?" Chan asks with a brow arched, the tutor didn't actually know what bothered him more: You and Seungmin interrupting his class or Hyunjin paying attention. The Prince scoffed. "In case you didn't notice Chan, this is the fourth day that I've come on time and stayed throughout the whole lecture."

"This is also the fourth day that you've forced y/n to sit beside you throughout that whole lecture" Seungmin chuckled once again which Hyunjin glared at.

"Don't you have anything better to do?"

"Nope" His friend said, flashing him a mocking smile.

All you could do was sigh before resting your head on Hyunjin's desk.

The moment you did, Chan and Seungmin didn't fail to notice the sudden change in Hyunjin's expression as he turned to face you with worried eyes.

"Are you okay y/n? Do you feel sick? y/n-" You slowly turned your head to face the prince and for a second his breath hitched at the sight of your sleepy form.

"-since when have you been such a worrywart? I'm fine Hyunjinnie... sorry for disrupting the class Chan, carry on" You said, cutting the prince off before turning to face his tutor and gesturing your apology. Chan simply offered you a smile and a small nod. Meanwhile, Hyunjin simply stared at you as you turned your head to his direction once again and closed your eyes to rest.

Even if it was your duty to protect him, he would understand why you're so tired.

For the past four days, from the moment he woke up till the moment he had to go to bed, he made you stay by his side, literally. Instead of waiting outside the study, he always made you sit beside him and either played with your hand, interlocked your arms or held your wrist. And after dinner, he'd make you both head straight to the rose garden to stay there till the sun would shine, or until he headed back to his room. The only time you weren't with him was whenever you needed to head to the restroom, bathe or sleep.

Savor it Hwang Hyunjin, cause it'll only be for this week. He thought to himself as he let go of your wrist and opted to stroke your hair.

Chan sighed as he stared at the interaction.
This time, he didn't sigh out of irritation, maybe it was leaning more towards pity for the prince because he knew that something was wrong, that something was going to change very soon.
