You sighed as you stared at your ceiling. Things were changing again, and although you've mentally prepared yourself for what you planned to do, every time you returned from the rose garden, you found it harder and harder to separate from the prince you called your best friend.

You sighed once again.

It was already passed three in the morning, and you were beyond exhausted at this point, having just came back from the rose garden with the man who has roaming in your head. Despite the urge to just shut your eyes and rest though, you couldn't stop thinking.

Hyunjin has been acting the way he was the past few days for a reason. Although a part of you was mentally freaking out, you thought, why not savor the extra time you get to spend with him before-

-You roll to your side as you try to shake off your own little ideas.

"penny for your thoughts?"

That night you told Felix everything. Your assumptions about Hyunjin, your thoughts on the situation, your feelings, and what you could think of as the only possible solution to the slowly arising problem called reality.

"I should just rest" You muttered to yourself before twisting and turning on your bed once again. Then, before you realized it, you had already fallen asleep.

*

You slowly open your eyes when you feel the heat of the sun rays through the window paint on your face. You blinked once. Twice.

Wait- what time was it?

You immediately sit up, cursing at yourself for making the sudden movement which caused your head to throb. After falling off your bed and rushing to get ready, you immediately run out of yours and Felix's room with messy hair and unkempt clothes to bump into Changbin on the hallway.

"y/n? What the hel-"

"What time is it?"

"Huh?"

"What time is it?!" You say, a bit frustrated this time. Although you felt bad for releasing your anger on him, you hated how you didn't wake up on time. Just how tired were you?! When Changbin doesn't respond for over a minute, you released an exasperated sigh before running off to where you know Hyunjin's supposed to be, but upon opening the doors to the study, all you see is his tutor erasing things on the board.

"Chan where is he?"

"Your formalities?"

"Chan, I'm asking something" Chan arches a brow. It's the first time he's seen you cranky. And if he were to be honest, you were fucking scary. So before things got worse, he decided to answer your question.

"Hyunjin went out shopping in the market"

"ALONE???"

"Of course not, Felix is with him"

You paused for a moment, before mumbling "Why didn't Hyunjin just wake me up" and if Chan observed a little closer, it would seem as though you're sad that he didn't ask you.

Your slight pout made him calm down a bit and even release a chuckle. "y/n relax. You've been working almost double throughout the whole week, Hyunjin thought you needed a break. He'll be back in the afternoon. For now, he said to head to the storage room"

"What?"

*

If you got a penny for every time you sighed, you'd be making big cash in just this week alone. It's been over five hours since you've found yourself in the storage room. You were absolutely restless, you didn't even eat. The moment the words left Chan's lips, you headed there, cleaned a dusty couch and laid down, waiting for the prince to return.

"He could've at least told me if he was going today with Felix" you mumbled as you tossed and turned a bit, staring at the ceiling. For some reason, it irked you. That, and the stress, fatigue, and hunger were getting to you.

"UGH. WHAT'S TAKING HIM SO LONG... why did you just leave me Hyunjin... Not like I'm one to talk" you  said, mumbling the last part to yourself.

"I thought I was a bit over-bearing lately so I decided to leave you be, but here you are missing me"

Startled, you fell off the couch and looked up to see Hyunjin leaning against the door frame of the storage room with Felix awkwardly standing beside him.

"Yeah- you see I would've been flustered by your 'cool' persona if it weren't for Felix in the background"

"dammit"
