"Oof!"

Your five year old self stumbled back upon hitting someone. Your father had left you to wander the castle alone while he tended to his job. A few seconds ago, you were imagining yourself as a strong knight, riding on a horse.

You groaned in pain when your butt hit the somewhat hard carpet before deciding to look up to whoever you hit with a pout on your face, only for your eyes to meet those of a very pretty woman in an extravagant gown.

"Are you okay young lady?" She asks you, squatting down and grabbing you by the waist to help you up.

"I'm fine...your highness!" You stutter towards the end upon realizing that she had a royal crown over her head.

"My, what a lovely young lady! Tell me, who are your parents?"

"My father is the noble night and right hand of the King your Highness!" You say proudly, your head held up high at the mention of your father.

"Oh, you're sir Song's daughter?" The queen asks with a little shocked expression before lifting you up and spinning you around. You giggle at her actions as you repetitively nod your head at her question. After the queen spins you around for a bit, she seems to do a full body scan on you before saying "Say, you seem about the same age as my son. Would you like to have a play date with him?"

You flash her a bright, toothy smile despite missing one front tooth and repetitively nod your head once again, excited by the mention of a playmate. The queen chuckles at your actions before lifting you over her head to let you have a piggy back on her shoulders.

"Then it's settled! Let's look for your father to ask him if we could have a little play date"

"y/n. This is my son, Hwang Hyunjin. Hyunjinnie, this is Song y/n, daughter of sir Song, remember him?" Hyunjin nods his head at the question though his eyes never leave yours.

You stood in front of Hyunjin, staring at the boy for a few seconds before flashing him your bright smile once again and stretching a hand out. "Nice to meet you your Highness! Song y/n at your service!" You say excitedly.

Hyunjin continues to stare at you for a few seconds before the tips of his lips form into a small smile as he chuckles at your bright attitude and missing tooth. He shakes your hand and for a second, your eyes go wide at how warm his hand felt.

"It's nice to meet you too! And cut the formalities, call me Hyunjin!"

"Are you sure that it's a good idea for Hyunjin to meddle with other kids who are of a lower class?" The King whispers to his wife's ear with worry. "I mean, she is sir Song's daughter but-"

The queen holds her husband's hand in hers and rubs small circles at the back of his palm. "It's fine. The boy needs friends who can see the world through different eyes"

"I apologize in advance if my daughter causes any trouble or had caused any trouble" Sir Song, who was standing beside the King mutters, bowing at the queen.

"No worries!- OH Look at them! Already good friends!" The queen says excitedly as she watches Hyunjin grab your hand and drag you to wherever.

"-And that is why royal families have a yearly meeting. This year's meeting is here in your kingdom prince Hyun- prince Hyunjin, are you listening?"

Chan stops his lecture when he sees his student staring out at the window. Hyunjin sighs, head resting on his hand as he looks out through the big slab of glass, watching you spar with Lee Felix, a knight in training under sir Changbin.

Hyunjin subconsciously chewed on the inside of his left cheek as he glared at Felix who seemed to have you in a head lock. It had been thirteen years since you two had met, and since the day his mom had introduced you to him the two of you only got closer.

As you both grew older, you decided to follow your father's footsteps and work hard to become a knight. Luckily for you, when you were of age to start training, the kingdom was already accepting female knights.

Since you were already training to be a knight, and Hyunjin was a very spoiled prince, the moment you went under training, he had requested that you be his personal body guard.

His reasons for his actions were "Because I'm comfortable around her and she and her family are trustworthy people" Although any other guy could tell that Hyunjin had the biggest crush on you.

Even his parents knew, although they choose not to speak about it.

"Prince Hyunjin? Your Highness? YAH HWANG HYUNJIN!" Chan screams, slamming his pointing stick on Hyunjin's table to catch the other male's attention.

The action snaps the soon to be king back to reality and when he turns to Chan to glare at the guy, he's met with a tutor who had a little smirk on his face.

"You can stare longingly at her later. For now, you need to learn about your kingdom's tradition"

"For the last time, I don't like her that way Chan, sheesh" Hyunjin says with an eye roll "And it doesn't mean that I allowed you to speak informally when it's just us two that you could disrespect me like this"

Despite Hyunjin's words and stubborn personality, he knew that he needed to learn about the upcoming event between the kingdoms so he decided to glance at you one last time before giving his full attention to Chan.

Except when he turned to face you he saw you get out of Felix's headlock only for the guy to tackle you to the ground.

Chan sighed when he saw what happened. He mentally counted down to three in his head and right when he thought 'One' he heard the sound of Hyunjin's chair being pushed back as the prince headed for the door.

"Tell me about my kingdom later, I have something important to do! Bye Chan!" And before Chan could even reply, Hyunjin was already slamming the door on his face.

Chan sighs once again before he heads over to the board to erase the current lesson. As he cleans around he glances at the window, glaring at the it because it was the reason why Hyunjin left half of the time.

"I should really get curtains for these damn windows already"
