"An invitation to princess Yuqi's coming of age?"

You ask Hyunjin, tilting your head to the side as confusion painted your features.

It had been over two months since the Hans had left.

Right now, you found yourself in the study, standing in front of your prince's desk, Hyunjin seated before you, head propped on a hand with his elbow resting on the table as the other held a note on it.

"Yeah. It says we're invited"

"We as in you and me? I mean- it's mandatory to bring a knight but-"

"-yes. Me and you specifically. Here's your copy" Right after the words leave Hyunjin's lips, he opens a drawer and throws a letter towards your direction.

You hold the unopened letter in your hands, eyes going wide at the sight of the official seal of IDLE's kingdom.

Then, you open the letter and read the contents as well.

"Prine Hyunjin, y/n, as important as this is, Hyunjin still has lessons. So y/n if you'd like to stop distracting the prince then could you read that outsi-"

"-I have to wear a formal dress?" Your questions cuts off Hyunjin's tutor, making the man sigh. Chan knew that the moment a guard came to give the letters to the prince, and he opened it and read the contents before asking you to enter the room, lessons were as good as done.

"Yeah. Apparently since their kingdom isn't one for formalities, we're all equals there, meaning we all have to come in formal attire"

Too preoccupied with your own thoughts on regarding the attire, you fail to notice the prince's gaze locked on you. He never took his eyes off, trying his best to study your reaction and burn that into his memory.

Because ever since Jisung left, even if it was just a very slight change, you had become less uptight and more expressive. You slowly adjusted into this new mold that better grasped the fine line between your statuses and your friendship, and with that came a new set of reactions to different situations which Hyunjin had never seen before.

It was as if whatever higher power was up there was giving him even more reasons to fall in love with you and he loved and hated it all at the same time.

"But I don't have a dress" you muttered with a pout.

And as if a switch had turned on a little light bulb in Hyunjin's head, he turned to face his tutor, lips forming this shit-eating grin.

"I don't think I like where this is goin-"

"-cHAN. CANCEL ALL OF MY REMAINING LESSONS. Y/N LET'S GO"

Before either you or Chan could protest, Hyunjin already got up, grabbed you by the arm and dragged you out of the room. When the door slammed shut, Chan stood there, dumbdounded by the whole situation.

He sighed.

Hyunjin's hand was always very warm.
Hyunjin's hand is always very warm.

This was something that was always in your subconscious, but you had only recently let sink in. And what was worse was how you realized that the simple touch of his fingertips spread warmth all over you body and made your face feel hot.

"And where do you think you're going?"

You blink once, cutting off your train of thoughts as you quickly shrug off Hyunjin's hand before turning to face the source of the voice. Hyunjin groans, annoyed that someone had interrupted his plans.
