Get ready to cringe people 😂🤪---------
There I was the next morning, staring at the glass front doors of my school through the wind shield of my mum's car.
"Bye mom" I said, getting out of the car.
"Bye, sweetie, have a nice day" she replied, driving off.
I walked through the doors and went straight to my lockers to get out my geography text book. I had geography first period and I did not like that. As a matter of fact, I didn't like anything about Mondays. I dragged my feet to my class and headed straight for a seat at the back. I sat down, arranged my books and stationery on the table and then rest my head on the table.
I heard someone drag out the chair beside me and I looked up to see Blake.
"Hey" he greeted me, sitting down.
"Hi" I replied, a light smile on my lips.
"How was your weekend?"
"Well, on Saturday, it was boring, for most parts, other than when Clover, came over" I shrugged, leaning back on my chair "then on Sunday, after church, I slept till it was dinner time and my mum had to yank me out of bed"
"You sleep a lot?" he asked chuckling.
"Nah, only on weekends. How about you?"
"I've never really been much of a sleeper. I only - " he started.
"I was talking about your weekend, how did it go?" I cut him off.
"Oh," he said, reddening a little "Well, aside from the usual, basketball practice with Coach Bruce on Saturday and a family function I attended, let's just say, I watched TV throughout"
Just then, the teacher came in and we stopped talking and faced him.
"Good morning class" the teacher greeted and then started the lecture, not waiting for a reply.
"As you all know, your projects for this semester would be given this week, so you have enough time to do your research and all" he said as the class was coming to an end. "I've assigned you to your partners and the list has been pasted right outside the classroom along with your project topics. Do check it on your way out and have a nice day."
Just then, the bell rang and he left the class. I put my stuff into my bag, waved Blake goodbye and went out to check the list. Surprise, surprise, my name wasn't on the list. Crap.
"What's wrong?" Blake asked, coming out of the class. I probably looked worried.
"My name's not on the list" I said pouting.
"Really?" He asked, furrowing his eyebrows. He then checked and confirmed it.
"Can you direct me to the teacher's lounge?" I asked.
"Sure, this way" he said as he started to walk.
"Wait, aren't you going to check who your partner is?" I asked stopping him.
"Oh yeah, right" he said turning to check "Stacy Flinn"
"Ugh" I rolled my eyes as he took a picture of their topic "Goodluck with that one"
"Way to go, Dobberman" he chuckled "Could have left me without a partner so I'd do the project myself, because even with Stacy, I'd still do the project myself"
I laughed as he led the way to the teacher's lounge. We walked down the hall, took two turns and there we were. Heaving a sigh, I knocked and after a faint come in, we both entered and he led us to the teacher's desk. On his table was the name 'J. Dobberman'. What a wierd name.
