Chapter 16

January and Feburary had passed peacefully and quite quick. But May was going by terribly slow. I was getting to the point were I just wanted to be with Niall in his arms. Skype and calling wasn't enough anymore. I know long distance relationships are hard. But maybe that's why they last, or don't last. You either are in hopeless love with them or you fall out of love with them. I was hoping the second reality wasn't mine.

It was a Friday and my horrible week was over. I probably was on the phone with Niall for 3 hours complaining and ranting about the people at school, my classes, and papers. But he just listened. He didn't tell me to suck it up like most people would have. He just listened and tried to help me through it.

"Avia? I've got a question for you?" Niall said through the phone.

"Mmhm?" I replied.

He started to talk then stuttered. "Do you um... Uh, do you..?" He sounded terrified.

"Do I what Niall?" I demanded.

"Um, this is a stupid question but I need to hear it. Do you, do you love me?" Did he really just so that?! Of course I love him! We'd been dating for 3 months now. Why would he ask a silly thing like that? Then I realized. We've never said I love you to each other. Not once. Our relationship consisted of us talking on the phone, texting, Skyping.

Niall was getting anxious and I could hear him breathing hard.

"Niall. Of course I love you! Maybe I just have a hard time saying it. I mean giving love out is hard, so hard for me. I've given love out and gotten rejected..." I said nervously.

"Oh babe. I absolutely, positively adore you. And love you. I would never reject your love." I heard him slow his breathing down. I sat down on my bed for a minute to process this.

"I really do. You are so strong and fearless, darling. I love everything about you. And I have a surprise for you," Niall said. I nodded not realizing he can't hear a nod.

"Okay." I responded. "Niall, thank you. For being so sweet. You are all I have ever wanted in life and now I have you."

He laughed. "So mushy today! I love you sweet heart and will always. I've got soundcheck now though. I'll Skype you tonight?" He asked in that adorable accent.

"Of course! I love you too, good bye dear."

We both hung up and I had smile plastered on my face.

I did homework most of the day. Wrote a paper. At one point the paper got so boring I cranked Take Me Home and danced around my dorm room. I had two girls come over and tell me to turn it down but I never did. Then I heard my Skypeing and walked over to my laptop and opened it.

I saw Niall's face appear and smiled. He looked gorgeous. Well he usually does. I just wanna be with him. In his arms.

"Hello beautiful," he said.

"Hey," I said laughing. "How we're rehearsals?"

"Good. A lot of goofing around which is expected," he said. "But I've missed you." He frowned.

"I've missed you too. I know it's hard. But we can do it. I mean I've never met anyone like you and I don't wanna let you go," I said looking down. I just wanted to feel his hands in my own, holding me close. I felt a tear coming. I quickly wiped it away and looked up.

"Babe, are you okay?" he asked looking sad. I shook my head no.

"I'm not alright. I try to hold it back but I just wanna be with you." I felt more tears coming and just put my head in my hands.

I looked back up at Niall and he was gone. I looked confused. He soon came back with his guitar.

"I've been working on a song for you.." He started to play a slow soft melody. Then it started to pick up a bit. "I haven't figured out the lyrics yet, though," he said. I started laughing.

"Well I like the chords," I said still laughing. He laughed too.

"Pretty silly to not have lyrics..." he said smiling at himself.

We talked all night. Then Amanda finally told me to stop and go to sleep. I laughed and Niall and I said our goodbyes.
