Chapter 12

The next couple of weeks were hard. My classes weren't very interesting and were quite simple. Amanda took it just as hard. We wouldn't even go to parties or hang out with any of our other friends. We were kind of in a depression. But the boys called often. Niall the most. He'd call me in the morning and then after classes. He'd memorized my schedule and I relied on him to call me.

He was so sweet and kind to me. He'd call me up and just listen to all my drama and let me rant. He wouldn't say a thing, just listen. And maybe that's why I loved him more and more each day. Not even considering how much money he was spending on calling long distance.

Amanda and Harry texted a lot. Like anytime she could she was texting him. I saw the sorrow in her eyes. It's only been a couple weeks and she was still sad. I made myself happy again. I tried to think of seeing him spring break. How I was going to get a passport, fly to England, and stay with him for three weeks. Amanda hasn't decided on what she wanted to do. Well actually she just wanted to travel with the boys. But that wasn't an option considering she as going to school to be a physiologist which required a lot of focus and determination. I, of course, just wanted to be a plain simple teacher. Easy enough. Ha.

"Amanda. We're going out tonight! It's a Saturday and we have Monday off so let's do something!" I said to her. She was laying in bed complaining she was sick when I knew she wasn't. I dragged her out and told her to be ready in 10 minutes.

"Dress nice. We're going to a club!" We weren't even old enough to drink but I didn't care. I just wanna out of this dorm.

I put on a slick black dress and short, red boots. Amanda had on bright blue pants and a leather jacket. I laughed at how stupid we looked.

We caught a taxi to the Shady Club. The stupidest name I've ever heard. Some how we managed to get it and sat down in an isolated area.

"I'll get some pop," Amanda said to me. She already looked happy without Harry on her mind. While I was sitting alone, a guy walked over to me. He seemed a bit tipsy.

"Hello," he said with his words slurred. I nodded back really not interested. He slid closer to me.

"How are you doll?" he asked. I smiled a fake smile and looked away. He wouldn't give up.

"Hey you look familiar? Are you a celebrity? I've seen you on a magazine..." Now I was interested.

"No, I'm not famous," I said annoyed.

"I know! You're that guy's girlfriend! Um... What's the name?? Uh....?"

"One Direction?" I asked. He snapped his fingers.

"Yeah! I knew you looked familiar. So you want a drink? Or dance?" he asked getting even closer.

"No thanks. I have a boyfriend." He moaned but eventually left me alone. I saw a flash go off but didn't know what it was. Probably some drunks messing with lights, I thought.

Amanda and I had great time even though we didn't talk to anyone. Just being out of the house enough. A couple days later I got a random call from Niall. I answered fast and started telling him everything that has happened in my life. He barely responded.

"What's wrong?" I asked patiently.

"I saw the Mirror this morning. You're on the front cover." I was taken back. Me on the front cover?

"Why? Why am I on the front cover? Isn't that a gossip magazine?"

He paused. "Well yes." I could hear the tension in his voice. "There is a picture of you sitting in a club with a guy. He had his arm around you..." Niall trailed off.

"What? I was never with any --. Oh." I said. I remembered. That stupid guy. And the flashes. No. Someone took a picture of me with that guy and made it look like we were together. No.

"No! I went out with Amanda that night to cheer her up! That guy came on to me and I told him to get lost! I told him I had a boyfriend! He left!" I pleaded.

Niall didn't respond. "Please baby I didn't. I would never cheat on you. Please. I'm sorry."

He simply responded, "No." And he hung up.

I couldn't believe this. People controlling Niall and mine's relationship?!? I felt so heartbroken and lonely. Like someone just cut my hand off. It was the worst feeling ever. I can't believe that just happened. I put down my phone and lie in bed. I sat there for hours. Thinking to myself. Then tears came. So much. I didn't think I had any left after Niall left for London.

Then the door opened. Amanda walked in. She looked happy until she saw me. She sat down on the bed and asked what was wrong. I explained it all.

"Oh, Av. He doesn't know the full story. He doesn't understand. You need to call him."

I shook my head no. He doesn't want me anymore.

"Fine," Amanda said. She then walked into the bathroom. I heard her mumbling on the phone.

"Harry, she's depressed. In shock. Tell Niall. It was a misunderstanding. Nothing more. She would never cheat on Niall. He's her world. Harry, baby, please."

I heard her laugh at bit then hung up. She came out and walked over to her bed and got on her computer. I ignored her until my phone rang. I jumped up, in shock. I saw a smile on Amanda's face.

"Hello?" I asked not bothering to look at who called.

"Avia." I heard a familiar Irish accent say. "I'm sorry. I should trust you. But it's so hard when you're so far away? I mean you're gorgeous and I don't wanna lose you."

I started crying. "What?" Niall asked worried.

"It's just," I said through sobs, "I've never wanted anyone else more in my life than you. And when you called me earlier, it broke my heart."

I heard him sigh through the phone. "I'm really sorry darling. I didn't mean to hurt you. I over reacted. Please, Av."

"It's okay. Just never let it happen again," I said firmly.

I could hear him smile through the phone. "Good. So how are you doing?"

I laughed."Your transition in conversation is lovely," I said still laughing. He laughed too. And everything was better.
