We made it back to the highway with no other issue and we were greeted with Carol asking us more questions.

"Rick and Daryl are still out there looking, for now though let's continue to get prepared for the road." I told her before spotting my nephew, "If you all will excuse me for a moment."

I made my way over to the boy, frowning as I noticed the sad look that adorned his face.

I knelt down in front of him so that I was at his height, my hand coming to rest on his shoulder. "You alright?" I questioned him watching as he shook his head.

"What if something bad happens to her?" Carl asked and I bit my lip, in truth I had no way to tell if something had happened to her but I wasn't going to let Carl give up hope.

"I'm sure she's gonna be just fine bud, im sure she's just waiting for us to find her."

He looked at me with those baby blue eyes, the same one's as his father, and he latched onto me. "I just want her to be okay." His voice was muffled from his face being buried in my shoulder but I understood him.

My hand came up to rub circles along his back In hopes to soothe him. "She will Carl, don't worry" I whispered to him, leaning back to kiss his forehead. "Now why don't you go look around the cars, take your mind off of it," I told him as I stood up, ruffling his hair.

He whacked my hand away but I could see the grin threatening to make itself known. I let out a laugh before nudging him, "Go on."

I watched as he ran off, the boy rummaging around in a car before finding something of use and bringing it to his mom. I sat there for a good moment before I headed over to where the others were talking.

"Herd. That sounds about right." I caught Shane saying as I joined him, Glenn, and Andrea.

I figured out pretty quickly what they were talking about.

"I mean, back at the old camp we saw a smaller version of it." I jumped in, remembering how the group of walkers had just wandered into camp.

"Yeah, let's hope we don't run into another one," Shane said and I agreed with him.

Shane let out a sigh as he scratched at his head, "Come on, let's get back to work."

We all got to work, lugging supplies to a pile in front of the RV to be sorted.

"This should last us for a long time if we're smart about how much we use at a time," I commented as I dropped a bag full of canned goods.

We had to be careful about how much we use at a time, we're a big group, and while we found a lot of stuff if all of us are not careful it will go quickly.

We worked for a bit longer and I was thankful when the sun started to set, the heat had been killing me for most of the day.

I set down one last crate before leaning my back against the trunk of a car, reaching up to wipe the sweat from my forehead.

"Im gonna go change, grab some water while im at it too. " I told Shane and he nodded in acknowledgment.

I made my way over to the car and I was grateful that I hadn't brought all of my things into the C.D.C.
