i stood in the corner of that gigantic room
my eyes roaming about searching for you
butterflies in my stomach
and the clenching of my heart
as my sight found your face
affable
your flyaway black hair
standing there tall
with a charming smile
i couldn't help but stop and stare
admiring you from afar
not thinking you would care
the evening continued
you me and our friends
we'd always been undefined
but i hoped that could change
game after game
closer and closer
now there we were standing
under the starry night
with a cool breeze in the air
i was screaming at the top of my lungs
to my favorite song
and you stood there
silent and mysterious as ever
a bit more time
you got my song played
and i danced on
i could see the soft smile on your face
the night couldn't have gotten more magical
but then you proved me wrong
as we sat at the dinner table
and you showed me you cared
sharing your food with me
a small action that meant a lot
you held up your hand
now mine against yours
they would've fit perfectly
if it weren't for our closed doors
it was a funny affair in all
no one knew anything
except the two of us
and our two friends
we went back out
sitting under the moonlit sky
and as we faced each other
i noticed the stars in your eyes
this moment would be written
one day far ahead
in a book called "memories"
kept safely in my head
we would be a chapter
one that was left incomplete
but i would forever cherish
the night we truly met
