So as Katie was in surgery with Addi and Amy, I stayed with Derek, and his broken nose, and oxygen-deprived brain.
I was just starting to doze off, I feel Derek move.
"Mer, where am I?" Derek asks, thought scratchy and dry.
"Derek, dear, we're at the hospital. You got upset when I told Addi to operate on Katie. And you threw something and then passed out. I was talking with Amy and Addi earlier, before they took Katie down. I know it sucks, but hey, Katie will be better in the end.". I assure him.
"Hmmm. Okay. Wake me with- Amy and Addison are operating on Katie?" Derek asks, suddenly alarmed.
"Yes dear. But it's fine. I've gotten a few updates while you were asleep, and it's been a fairly smooth surgery. You shouldn't worry. " I say, getting up and putting my purse in the chair, and climbing into the small squishy hospital bed with Derek, and weaved my hands through his hair, until we both fell asleep.
