CHAPTER 2 || Basketball

JENNIE'S POV

After that boring lesson, I grabbed my bag leaving Taehyung with that Jo- Sooyoung. I'm not calling her Joy, because she doesn't bring me joy.

Why am I so mean to her, you ask? I don't know actually. Maybe I'm just cold to her so that she can stay away from me and Taehyung. Because he is such a playboy.

Taehyung has played with a lot of girls, and I don't want the same thing happening to her. Just because she was still so nice to me after I was so rude. So I'm basically doing her a favour. She should be thankful.

Plus, she just gives me bad and bratty vibes. You know, like those mean girls who pretend to be nice when they're actually a bitch? I'm just worried for my best friend, she's just probably gonna use him or something.

I plugged in my airpods. I'm probably just going to the gym, since I have a free period. "Jen!" I turned around seeing Taehyung. He was sprinting towards me. Once he was close enough, he grabbed my bag.

"Hey, what are you-" I cut myself off as he started walking. The fvck? "Hey! Tae!" After a few more attempts, I just groaned and ran after him. "Where are you going?" He asked still looking ahead of him.

"Um, to the gym. I have a free period." I responded looking down on my phone. "You are still gonna sign up for basketball, right?" Taehyung asked. This time, he was looking at me.

"Well duh! Obviously..." I playfully rolled my eyes and he chuckled. "Joy told me that she was going to sign up for cheerleading." Just hearing this girl's name makes me facepalm.

I sighed. "Taehyung, you better not be planning on playing with her heart." Pointing a finger to him, I raised my brows. He simply rolled his eyes. "We're here." We stopped at the gym.

"Taehyung!" The both of us darted our heads towards the voice. It was Jimin and Jungkook. "Hey.." Taehyung dropped both of our bags on the floor, and they all did their little bro hug, whatever that is.

"Hey guys!" The boys pulled away. I gazed at the direction of the voice, but I immediately regretted it. "Joy..." I mumbled under my breath. She stopped in front of me and smiled.

"Oh hey, Jennie! Are you going to sign up for cheerleading as well?" Joy tilted her head a bit. The boys chuckled and Taehyung put his arm around my shoulder.

"Ah no, Joy... she's actually trying out for the team." Taehyung replied for me. Joy was stunned. "O-oh..." She nodded slowly. "What? Is that a shock for you?" I coldly said.

Taehyung glared at me.

"Heyyy~~"

Ugh... where do these people keep coming from?!

We looked at the voice, seeing Rosie with Lisa. "Hey Chae," Jimin stopped in front of her. "Oh, hey oppa..." Rosé shyly tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Hey-"

"Don't even say anything to me." Lisa cut Jungkook off pointing a finger at him. Jungkook put his hands in surrender, then backed away.

JOY'S POV

Aww... they're so cute. The blondie with the other blondie. And the girl with bangs and the brunette guy.

I chuckled. Everyone switched their heads to me. "Oh sorry, you guys are just so cute." They looked at me confused. I pointed at them, the two blondies, and the girl with bangs and the brunette.

"Eww! Him?!" The girl with bangs threw a look of disgust at the guy. "I mean, I don't mind..." The guy said. I giggled nodding at them. "What are your names?" I asked.

"I'm Jungkook, this is my girlfriend, Lisa." Ohh.. so his name is Jungkook and hers is Lisa. "What the- I'm not your girlfriend! And I never will be!" The girl called 'Lisa' scolded.

"What about you guys?" I pointed at the two blondes. "I'm Jimin, this is my friend, Rosé." 'Jimin' said and I could see that Rosé was a bit hurt. I wonder why? She was smiling just a while ago.

"I'm-" Taehyung cut me off. "This is Sooyoung guys, you can call her Joy." He smiled at me. Wow, he's so sweet.

"Nice to mee-"

"Ok ok, guys! Cut the introductions! Are we signing up or not?" Jennie questioned the group and picked up her bag that was on thd ground. They all cheered and went inside, leaving me with Taehyung.

"Sorry about her." He apologized. "No, it's ok." I gave him a thumbs up. "Anyways... shall we go?" He gestured towards the gym and picked up his bag. I smiled at him.

I think I'm falling in love with this guy already... He surely knows the way to a woman's heart.

JENNIE'S POV

We all went inside, leaving Joy. "Unnie, you're signing up for basketball?" Rosé asked me. I nodded. "And you guys.. cheerleading?" I pointed at them, making sure. "Mhm." Lisa nodded.

"Bye unnie!" She waved then dragged Rosé to the sign-up sheet for cheerleading. "Yo!" Jungkook called me. "Aren't you signing up?" He pointed at the paper for basketball tryouts.

"Yeah, but I'm just waiting for Taehyung..." I looked around. "Oh, he's over there..." Jimin pointed at the door. I then saw... Taehyung and Joy? What the heckk?! Anger was visible on my face.

"Why you mad?" Jungkook asked, looking at them. They were smiling and laughing.

Gag me with a truck...

"Ohh, wait. Are you jealous?" Jimin chuckled. "No! Just worried for Tae! I mean, she's probably acting all sweet, just to get to his head!" I said that all very quickly.

"Mhm... sure she is.." Jungkook nodded. "You know what? You guys already signed up, so just go practice!" I pushed them away. Then I walked over to Taehyung.

"Oh hey, Jen-" I cut him off and dragged him away. Joy noticed and she just waved. "What was that for?!" He pulled away.

"Tae I swear- if you're just going to play with her feelings like you did with those other girls-"

"Jennie, no I am not! I mean, she's pretty inside and out! Just look at her.." He looked back at Joy, seeing her signing up for cheerleading.

"You better not be! You know- those girls you played with, are still coming to my house just to talk to you so you can take them back!" I scolded. "Huh? Why?" He asked.

"Because since we're best friends, we always hang out together! So they think that you live there!" I crossed my arms. "Oh." He simply said.

I sighed. "Come on, let's sign up." Taehyung said. He then held my wrist and dragged me to the sign-up sheet.
