Roxie spent a good part of the day editing her vlog and she was pretty happy with it.There was some good stuff from the day she had hung out with Eoin and from the pub crawl. She was getting ready to upload it but was unable to get the wifi to work. She borrowed a car and drove over to Eoin's house and knocked on his door, computer under her arm.
He pulled open the door and looked shocked to see her.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"The internet is down over there and i need to upload this video. Would you mind terribly if i borrowed some of your wifi, please? I'll even cook you supper. I'm technically considered a professional cook."
He smiled and let her in. "What do you all need to do?" He asked.
"It just needs to upload, I don't even need to do anything. It can just sit somewhere."
"Alright, you can set up here." He pointed to the dining room table. Roxie set up the upload and once she was certain it was working she joined Eoin in the kitchen and went straight to the fridge. She rummaged through and pulled out some sausage.
"I have the best idea for what to make you." She said as she gathered the other ingredients. She started on a soup that had roasted red peppers, chicken stock, the sausage, and some cream, then tossed in some noodles. While it simmered she went to work making some grilled cheese sandwiches.
"Can I help you at all?" He asked for what seemed like the millionth time.
"Could you get me some bowls?" She said. He rolled his eyes at her but went and got the bowls.
"This smells really good."He told her as she spooned it into the bowls. He carried the food over to the table, then went back and grabbed some beers from the fridge. "Is it uploading?" He asked.
She nodded. "It's almost finished."
"What's it about?"
"It's just about my week. Is it okay that you're in it?" He nodded. "Good, I wasn't going to change it."
The video finished uploading and they finished their supper. They chatted the whole time, mostly about their families. Roxie could tell that something was on Eoin's mind, but he wasn't bringing it up. She checked her phone and saw that it was getting late.
"I should get out of your hair." She said, standing and packing her laptop up.
"It's alright, you're not a bother." He said with a smile, his brown eyes followed her as she bustled around his dining room, collecting all her stuff.
When she finally had all her stuff they walked to the door together.
"Thanks so much Eoin. You're a real life saver."
The distracted look was back on Eoin's face, and Roxie wondered if he had heard her.
"Roxie, I'd really like to go on a date with you." He blurted out. His cheeks had gotten slightly rosy and he was biting his lip. "A real date." He added nervously.
"I'd like that." She said shyly. As soon as she said that Eoin's nervousness disappeared.
"So, I'll call you?" He said softly. The atmosphere between them had changed considerably.
