Roxie's alarm clock woke her up early on boxing day. She was nice and warm in Eoin's bed with his arm draped over her. He groaned, loudly when the alarm went off.
"Turn it off." He pleaded, still half asleep. Roxie climbed over him and shut it off. Eoin hugged her tight. "Morning Lovely." He said, his voice still full of sleep. She rested her head on his chest, feeling it rise and fall as he breathes. "When do you need to leave by?" He mumbled into her hair.
"The wedding starts at four at this little chapel, but I'll need time to get ready." She turned her head so that her chin was rested on him. "Do you want to come? It's nothing fancy. After the chapel, we're headed to a pub."
Eoin smiled at her, "That sounds like my cup of tea. Do you want to get ready here? You could take my car to go grab your stuff. While you're gone, I'll make us a fry up."
"That sounds great." She grabbed her clothes off the floor and quickly got dress. Eoin put on a pair of pants and went to get his keys.
"See you in a bit." He said, giving her a quick kiss before heading into the kitchen to start on breakfast.
Roxie went back to Fergus' parents where everything was a havoc mess. She slipped in and grabbed all her stuff she'd need. She also had to assure her mother that she'd be at the chapel on time.
When she got back to Eoin's it was a considerable amount of time later.
"It smells good in here." She told him as she set all her things down on the couch. He motioned for her to sit down as he brought a plate over.
"A traditional Irish fry up." He said, proudly setting it down in front of her. "Sausage, bacon, fried egg, beans, white pudding, toast."
They dug in to their breakfasts and then Roxie popped in the shower. Once she finished she blow dried her hair. She could hear another shower running while she worked on her hair. She decided to straighten it out as straight as she could get it. She then put on her long sleeved purple dress and her black leggings, and went to find Eoin.
She found him in his room, looking through his closet.
"What should I wear?" He asked, stepping out so she could get in. "Whoa, you look amazing. I like your hair like that." He ran his fingers through her hair.
Roxie blushed and started to go through Eoin's clothes. " I guess you should wear a suit?" She said, unsure. She had never been to an Irish wedding.
"I was thinking this one." He pulled out a black suit.
"I like it." She took her make up bag and went into the bathroom in his room, so they could talk while they finished getting ready. She dumped out all her make up and stared at it. She decided on a smoky eye, using green eyeshadows, and a soft pink lipstick.
Eoin walked in while she was finishing putting on her mascara. He was wearing a grey shirt with his black suit and was tying his black tie.
"Shall we get going, then?" He asked her, checking his watch.
"Yes, I promised I wouldn't be late."
They grabbed their coats and got in Eoin's car. He knew which chapel to go to, and even had a short cut so they made it in a record time. People were starting to sit when they got there, Roxie's mom waved them over to the front row.
"It's nice to see you again, Eoin." Her mom said.
"You as well, ma'am."
They chatted until the wedding march started, then they all stood. Eoin held Roxie's hand during the vows and when it was over he cheered loudly, along with Fergus' friends.
They all then went to the pub. "Want a whiskey?" Eoin asked. Roxie wrinkled her nose, but nodded. They went to the bar and he ordered two whiskeys. Eoin started to sip at his, Roxie sniffed it before trying hers. Eoin watched her sip it and laughed at the look on her face.
"You don't have to finish it." He chuckled.
"No, no. I want to." She took his hand and held her whiskey in the other hand and they started to socialize with the crowd of people while they waited for the bride and groom to join them.
Finally Josie and Fergus arrived at the pub.
"Josie, you look gorgeous!" Roxie said as she hugged her sister. She was wearing a light blue wedding dress and she had a crown of flowers in her braided hair.
"Thanks. I need a drink though, before all the dancing starts."
"Let me get the bride a drink." Eoin said. Roxie had abandon her whisky at this point and the sisters followed him up to the bar.
Eoin said something quietly to the Bartender. Josie laughed, but Roxie had no clue what that was. The bartender put three glasses with extremely dark liquids in them and shot glasses with lighter coloured fluid next to it.
"Ever had a boilermaker?" Eoin asked. Roxie shook her head and he smiled. " On the count of three we'll drop the the shot glass in, then chug it. Ready? One, Two, Three." They dropped the shot glasses in and chugged down the drinks, as Eoin had explained. Eoin finished his quickly, followed by Josie. Roxie eventually finished hers and Eoin cheered for her. "Let's dance!" He pulled her out to where people were dancing and started to swing her around.
They danced, drank and partied well into the morning. It was six in the morning when the party finally broke up and Eoin and Roxie walked back to his place.
