The whole next day Roxie had butterflies in her stomach. Eoin had texted her early that morning and told her he would pick her up around seven. She spent the day with her family, exploring some of the Irish scenery. They got home later then Roxie had expected and she had to rush to get ready. She tied her long hair into a ponytail and changed into a pair of jeans and a cozy sweater. she borrowed from her sister. Checking herself in the mirror she wondered if she had time to put her contacts in, but decided she probably wouldn't. She gave her bangs one last spritz of hair spray and went to wait by the door. She was alone at the house, her sister and Fergus had taken both sets of parents out for supper.
She saw Eoin's car pull up and him get out. He ran up to the front door with a flower in hand. She pulled open the door before he had a chance to knock.
"You look beautiful." He told her, handing her the red rose.
''Thanks. Am I dressed appropriately? " She was worried she wouldn't fit where ever he was going to take her.
"You're perfect darlin. Shall we?" She nodded and followed him to his car. She noticed the inside was much cleaner then it had been the day before. She was touched that he cleaned it up for her.
"So, where are we going?" She asked.
"I was thinking we'd have a little friendly competition." He said with a mischievous look on his face. The rest of the drive they chatted, but Eoin wouldn't reveal where he was taking her. They finally arrived at what appeared to be an arcade. Eoin had a huge smile on his face as he took her hand and pulled her to the door. "This is going to be so fun." He assured her. "What do you want to do first?"
Roxie looked around and weighted her options. "Foosball. Then skee-ball."
"Good choices." He said. Eoin went to get them coins for the games and rejoined her with a box of popcorn. "All right girlie, are you ready to be crushed?" He teased, tossing a handful of popcorn at her.
"Bring it." She said, playfully bumping her chest against his.
Two hours later they had used up almost all the coins and were arguing over who was the champion.
"It was clearly me. It takes way more skill to be good at foosball then it does to play that one were you shoot a basketball over and over again." She told him while he looked around for the last game.
"Girlie, you're mad if you think that." He took her by the hand again and took her to the claw machine. "Tie breaker." He said, giving her one of the coins. "Who ever can get a toy is the ultimate winner."
Roxie took the coin and put it in the machine. She tried very hard and managed to grab a stuffed bear by the ear, but as she moved it to the chute, it fell to the ground.
"Good try love. Now it's my turn." He bumped her with his hip and cracked his knuckles. He put in his coin and went to work on getting out a toy. He had a look of pure determination on his face as he worked, and he managed to grab the same bear that Roxie had been working on getting. He successfully dropped it in the chute and did a celebration dance before pulling it out.
"For you." He said, handing her the bear. Roxie rolled her eyes and took it from him. "Are you hungry?" He asked.
"A little." She responded.
"We could go somewhere to eat, or get a take away pizza and head back to mine to pop in a movie?"
"I could go for some pizza." She said, really only wanting alone time with Eoin, curled up on the couch.
As they left the arcade, Eoin took her hand again, gently this time. He went to her side of the car and opened the door for her, but stopped her before she got in.
"If I don't do this now, I worry I never will." He said softly. He cupped her cheek and pulled her in for a kiss. It was soft kiss and it didn't last long, but it was a meaningful kiss. "I've wanted to do that since the first time I ever spoke to you." He whispered, brushing a stray strand of her hair off her face. Roxie blushed and bit her lip. He leaned in and kissed her again and she wrapped her arms around him. This kiss was more passionate, Eoin pressed Roxie against the car as their lips pressed together. Once they finished, Roxie giggled softly and nuzzled her nose against Eoin's.
They got in the car and drove to Eoin's house. He held her hand as they drove, stroking her hand with his thumb.
"What kind of pizza do you like?" He asked as they walked in the house.
Roxie shrugged, "I'm really not picky." She said as she took off her coat. Eoin snuck up behind her, grabbed her and kissed her again. Roxie laughed and tried to swat him away, but ended up giggling and wrapping her arms around him again.
He picked her up and carried her to the couch. They laid on the couch and made out for a while, but when Eoin's stomach growled loudly they decided it really was time to order the food.
