Roxie was getting ready to pick up Eoin from the airport when her phone buzzed. She sighed when she read the message.
'Sorry babe. Filming ran late and I missed the flight. I'll be on the next one. Love you.'
She sat on the couch and turned on the television, but didn't really watch it. Her and Eoin had been trying the long distance relationship for about four months, and Roxie was having a hard time at it. They hardly saw each other, despite his trying to come back to LA every weekend.
Roxie must have fallen asleep on the couch because she woke up when Eoin picked her up to bring her to bed.
"Go back to sleep, babe." He said softly.
She woke up the next morning and could smell coffee. She walked out to the kitchen where Eoin was sitting at the table reading.
Her heart fluttered when she saw him, but she also had a sinking feeling in her stomach.
"Do you have anything planned for today." Eoin asked, noticing her watching him.
She shook her head, "We can do what ever you want." She tried to push down the bad feeling and threw herself into enjoying her day with Eoin. They spent the day at the farmers market then had supper with Roxie's friends Hannah and Mamrie.
The next day Roxie watched Eoin pack to leave again and she started to cry.
"Roxie, what's wrong?" He asked, rushing to her.
"Eoin, we need to talk." She said when she finally pulled herself together.
He sat next to her, "It's something bad." He stated, rather then asked. She nodded, and tears dropped to her hand.
"Eoin, this isn't working." She told him.
"Ro, it's only a few more months, then I'll be all yours." He told her brushing her face away from her face.
"Until the show starts up again. Or you get a movie role and need to move somewhere else for a few months. I can't do that Eoin."
"Ro, we can make this work."
"This isn't working right now, what if we got married and had kids. Where would we live? LA? Ireland? Where ever you happen to be filming at the moment. Eoin, I just can't see this working in the long run."
Eoin looked at her and she lowered her eyes. "I can understand that. I don't like it, but I understand." He brushed her tear off her face and started to pack again. He did a final sweep, making sure that he didn't miss anything.
Eoin held her hand and they walked to the door together. He hugged tight then kissed her forehead.
"Love you."He whispered in her ear.
"Love you too."
He gave her one last smile before shutting the door. Once he was gone the tears started to flow again. She slumped onto the floor and hugged her legs to her chest and sobbed.
