Irish Vacation

Chapter nine

Roxie woke up and rolled over. Eoin was still asleep next to her and she watched him for awhile. She was cold, so she snuggled up closer to him but her wiggling woke him up.
"Morning." He said, placing a soft kiss on her forehead.
"Hi." She stretched out, making sure to cover herself up with the blanket. She groaned and covered her face with her hands, "I can't believe I stayed over. I never stay over on the first date."
Eoin chuckled softly, and stroked Roxie's hair. "It's nothing to be ashamed of, love."
"I didn't want you to think I'm easy to get into bed."
"Well, you were in my bed one of the first times we hung out." He teased her and pulled her into a hug. Roxie closed her eyes and started to drift back to sleep, but was woken up by the door bell ringing.
"God damn it. Who is that?" Eoin said in a grumpy voice. He sat up and put on a pair of sweat pants. "I'll be back soon." He kissed her forehead before leaving the room. She sighed a happy sigh as she laid in his bed. She could hear Eoin talking to some people outside. She waited but from what she could hear, he was having a hard time convincing whoever he was talking to to leave.
Roxie grabbed her shirt and was putting it on when Eoin came back in the room.
"So, my sister's here. I forgot I had made plans to get breakfast with them." He told her.
"That's okay. I can find my way home."
"I'd actually like for you to come. If that's alright with you. My sister would like to meet you."
"Eoin, I haven't got a change of clothes." She said, suddenly feeling even more self conscious then she had before. She started to pat down her hair in an attempt to make her self more presentable, but Eoin grabbed her hands to stop her.
"Stop. You look gorgeous." He said. "Come out and meet her. "Please. I'd mean a lot to me." He said with a pout. "I promise she won't think poorly of you."
"Fine." she slipped on her jeans and put her seater back on while Eoin got dressed. She checked the mirror in the attached bathroom. It looked matted and messy, she sighed deeply. Eoin joined her in there and watched her through her reflexion in the mirror.
"Want an elastic for your hair?" He asked, opening a drawer and pulling out a bunch of black elastics. She smiled and took one, braiding her hair quickly.
"Do I look alright?" She asked while she checked her reflection.
"You look amazing." He kissed her forehead and slipped his hand into hers.
They went out to the living room where Eoin's sister was waiting, leafing through a magazine.
"Hi, I'm Maeve, you must be Roxie. It's very nice to meet you. Eoin talks about you all the time. Where should we go for breakfast? It's actually getting rather close to lunch, so I think we should just go to the pub." She said in one breathe. Roxie looked at Eoin with an open mouth. He smiled and winked.
"That sounds good, go start the car, we'll be right out." He shooed Maeve out with a laugh while he grabbed his and Roxie's jackets out of the closet. He helped Roxie put hers on then took her hand.
A while later the three of them were sitting at a table and Roxie was watching Eoin interact with his sister. She knew that his little sister was important to him and it was nice to see that in person.
"Excuse me, ladies. I'm going to go to the loo. Be nice, Maeve." Eoin said as he got up. Maeve waited until Eoin was out of ear shot and leaned in close to Roxie.
"So, you like my brother a lot, don't ya." She asked.
Roxie avoided Maeve's eyes. "I think I do."
"He likes you too. I can tell. But can you promise me something?" Roxie nodded.
"Don't break his heart." She said, Eoin rejoined them before Roxie could say anything else.
They had finished their lunches and Roxie waited with Eoin while Maeve went to the ladies room.
"I guess I have to take you home." He said softly. She smiled and nodded.
"Yeah, I should probably visit with my family." She sighed as she leaned against him.
He brought her home and walked her to the door.
"Bye." He said, looking into her eyes.
"Bye."She said, looking back at him. He leaned in and softly kissed her before getting back in his car.
