Flashback ~ Betty's POV ~ 15 March 2016 ~ 9 AM
Katy has made me a doctors appointment for today. I was really nervous but thankful because Katy did everything to help and she didn't even knew me that well.
"What do you want for breakfast?" Katy asked.
"Nothing, I'm not in the mood to vomit", I joked but it was actually true.
"I'm still not feeling really well", I said and sat down on the kitchen table in Katy's apartment.
"Oh okay", she said.
My head fell down in my hands and I sighed, "What if I'm not even pregnant, then I have to go back to Riverdale, everyone will be mad"
"Well, does it feel like you're pregnant?" Jorge, Katy's roommate, asked as he walked in the kitchen as well.
"Does it looks like I was pregnant before, how the fuck do I need to know how that feels", I replied curtly.
"The hormones, gurl you are definitely pregnant", he said.
"JORGE!" Katy snapped.
"Betty weren't you on birth control when you and Jughead had....you know"
"SEX!" Jorge yelled, it was actually pretty funny though.
"I forgot to take it one day and I wanted to take the day after pill but..."
"But...?" Katy asked, stretching the 'u'
"I forgot that as well"
"Just don't stress and see what the doctor says"
I was bouncing my leg up and down as I was waiting in the waiting room from the hospital. Both Katy and Jorge couldn't come because they had work.
"Mrs. Cooper?", Suddenly I heard my name. "Come with me please", she said as I stood up.
I followed her to a room at the and of the corridor and shook her hand once inside. "Hi I'm doctor Woods"
"Betty Cooper"
"Come sit down", she said and I did what she told me. First she asked me some questions because she saw I was pretty young.
"Pregnant? You want to confirm a pregnancy or see the progress of the baby?"
The word 'baby' hit harder then expected, I only used the word 'pregnant'
"Confirm a pregnancy", I answered.
"Do you have symptoms?"
"Yes, I have morning sickness, I missed my period last week so I did a test and I came out positive"
"Mhh", she hummed as she typed everything on my file that was on her computer. "How old are you again?"
"Sixteen" I became really nervous as I saw her face expression change, sixteen is just the beginning from your life, I know!
"Maybe you should bring a parent the next time or a family member", doctor Woods suggested.
"I don't have contact with my family anymore", I said, but was that a lie? I wasn't really sure. "I live with my friends", I added.
"Oh okay...shall we do an ultrasound to confirm it 100% ?" She asked and stood up.
I nodded my head and stood up to, she guided me to the treatment table and told me to lay down on it.
I jumped on it and lay down as I saw doctor Woods putting on gloves. She walked over to me and pulled up my shirt to my bra.
First she just felt around my belly and smiled weakly at me as she my nervous face. "Well your belly is slightly bloated, which happens after the first month. If you're indeed pregnant of course", she explained.
Then she squirted some cold gel on my stomach, which caused me to jumped a little.
"I'm sorry", she said. I said nothing back but just looked her in the eyes.
In that moment I wished Jughead was next to me to hold my hand and to tell me everything was gonna be fine. That he wanted me to have this baby, that he wanted a family with me.
But it was just me and as long as I didn't told the people I love where I was, I would be alone.
In the meantime doctor Woods had placed a stick on the gel and started moving around. She was looking at the monitor and then back at me and like that a few more times.
It looked like she understood all the weird things on the screen but I didn't.
"Congratulations you're pregnant", she said. In that moment I was sure, I was gonna be a mother, a damn mother!
She cleaned everything up and gave me some more information.
"You're already seven weeks", she told me
"Wait what?!", I answered, obviously shocked. "I forgot birth control, yes but seven weeks is impossible", I added.
"It's true though, are you okay?"
I thought for a second, "Umh...yeah I probably mixed up dates"
"Okay so the most women who become pregnant at this age prefer to have an abortion, what are you gonna do?" The doctor asked as we both sat on her desk again.
"I'm not sure, I'm not ready and still so young", I admitted.
"And what does your heart says?"
"That I'm not killing my own child and try to be the best mother I can"
She smiled by what I said. "So I set you up for next month, 20 April 2 PM does that work?"
"Yes, thank you"
