Flashback ~ Betty's POV ~ 8 October 2016 ~ 12 PM
I squeezed Katy's hand as I felt a needle going inside my vein. The anesthesist let some fluids ran into it and then put a band aid over it.
"I'm sorry Katy", I apologized because I had hurt her.
"No problem, did it hurt?"
"A little but it was okay", I answered.
Soon enough I started to loose the feeling in my legs and belly, which is exactly what the anesthesist told me was gonna happen.
"Do you feel this?" Doctor Robbins asked. I felt nothing and I didn't saw what they were doing because of the sort of wall they had set to hide from my vision.
"Tell me when you're gonna do it", I said waiting to feel someone's touch.
"I touched your upper leg multiple times now, mss. Cooper", he laughed.
"I didn't feel anything", I explained, which ment the anesthesia worked well and they could start with the c-section.
The anesthesist wasn't necessary anymore so doctor Woods told her she could leave, so she left. I turned my head to look at doctor Woods who walked over to me and started talking.
"Betty gonna start in a few moment. You're gonna be conscious all the time so it's really important that you think about something else and not about what we're doing okay?"
I nodded my head in agreement so she continued.
"Because of the anesthesia you're not gonna feel anything, if you do feel something and it hurts don't hesitate and tell us"
I nodded my head and turned to the other side where Katy was standing.
"Mrs. Keene unfortunately you have to leave, you can wait outside or in Betty's room. I'll call you in right after we're done", doctor Woods told Katy.
Before leaving she crouched down besides me head and took my hand. "I'm scared", I whispered.
"Don't be, I promise everything is gonna be fine. You're so strong and these incredible doctors are gonna help you to give birth to your baby", she said to comfort me.
She stood back up and walked towards the door as doctor Woods held it open for her, "The next time I'll see you you're a mom", Katy smiled and then left the room for real.
Soon enough they started to operate me, I closed my eyes and pretended like I was just sleeping.
Thinking about something else was actually not that hard I mean Jughead was in my mind all the time. I couldn't stop thinking about our first kiss and how he asked me to be his girlfriend.
But then I heard the noise, I never heard it before but it sounded so familiar though.
The sound of little cries filling the room. Quickly I opened my eyes to see if the sound was real and not just my imagination.
Tears came up as my eye catched doctor Robins holding a little human. He handed her to doctor Woods who cleaned her and wrapped a fresh towel around her.
She walked over to me and lay her down on my chest. As soon as I saw her face I fell in love with her, she looked like a little angel maybe even beautiful.
"Kaylee", I whispered, just like I thought her face said enough for me to know her name. She was crying in the beginning but once I got to hold her she stopped which was so heart warming.
"I need to ask her back for a few minutes, I need to examine her and you need to get stitched up", doctor Woods said.
I handed her back and told her I wanted to name her Kaylee.
"The scar from the surgery will visible for a few more months but if you take good care of it, it wil go away eventually", the doctor explained as he finished stichting it up.
Moments later, when the anesthesia had worn out, I was brought back to my room. Kaylee too but the midwife had put her in a little bed next to mine so I could get some rest.
"She's such a beauty", Katy said as she was looking at Kaylee.
I slowly got up and sat on the edge of the bed, I wanted to stand up but Katy didn't let me.
"Betty calm down you just had a c-section, you need to rest"
"I'm fine", I said.
"Yes because they gave you strong painkillers, come", she explained and helped me to lay down again.
"Is Kaylee okay?" I asked.
"Of course she is she's right here", Katy picked her up carefully and lay her in my arms.
"I love you baby", I whispered and kissed her head. She was filled with calmed and being so cute all the time.
"Are you gonna name her Jones or Cooper?"
"I told the midwife Cooper and maybe if Jughead ever comes in her life and actually wants to be her dad, she can become a Jones......Hopefully", I said and whispered the last part into Kaylees ear.
Then doctor Woods walked in with a bottle filled with milk, because I explained to her that I don't feel comfortable giving breastfeed.
"It's time to feed her", she said and handed me the bottle.
I sat up straight and held her close to my chest as I brought it up to her little lips.
As if she was an expert she placed her hands on both of the sides and started drinking, of course I was still holding the bottle.
When Kaylee was done she removed her hands and snuggled her head into my chest. I kissed her head and caressed her cheek as she drifted off to sleep.
"Thank you for all your help and for being here with me", I told Katy.
"Thank you for making my life excited for once", she laughed.
"No I'm serious", said.
"Yeah I know, I am too", she smiled and came over to me and gave me a hug.
