Then it happens.
He stares into my eyes, and then leans down, only centimeters away.
Then he wraps me into his arms in the best hug ever.
I forget about everything : Ashley, Ashley, Ashley, and more Ashley.
I close my eyes, and smile.
When I lean back, I stare at him and say,
"Do you still like Ashley?"
He smiles.
"She was a fake. But your not. Like you said on the card, real friendships never die" he says, brushing the strands of hair. out of my eyes
He did read the card
I lean in, and pull him close to me.
Because I feel like it.

When I wake up, Hayes is laying on my chest and I chuckle.
"Wake up, sleepy head" I coo.
"Good morning, sunshine" he says, in his raspy morning voice.
He climbs down the ladder and I do the same.
We walk downstairs and decide to make pancakes.
I get all the ingredients, while Hayes gets the bowls.
"Okay, so we need water, pancake mix---" I'm stopped by Hayes throwing the flower sack at me.
He laughs hysterically and I stare at him, furious.
I take the eggs and crack them on top of his head.
"Hmmm" I say, putting my hands on my hips.
"You didn't just do that" he says.
He picks me up and brings me to the bathroom.
"I'll wash the flour off your face" he says, placing me on the sink.
He dampens a wash cloth and dabs it on my face to get the flour off.
"I'll do the same" I say, turning the shower on.
"Stick your head in" I say, like I'm his mother.
"Yes, mom" he says, and takes off his shirt.
I try not to stare but...

I wash his hair with a girly shampoo, "strawberry sparkles"
Once I'm done, I finish making the pancakes and everyone comes down to eat.
Everything is fine until a thought pops into my head.

And I haven't even told Hayes.
